Assuming your bottome bracket is square taper then yes it will fit but the one you posted is 170mm whereas the replacement you posted is 175mm so that could be quite funky!

Quick question for you lot,

What kind of footwear do you use for flat pedals? Some kind of skate trainer? Quite padded with a firm sole or a decent pair of cycling shoes?

Get 5.10 Karver's and you wont look back.
I also stick them into the Washing machine after muddy rides :D

Anyone riding Cannock chase this weekend?
I'm there on Saturday @ 10:00 if anyone wants to join.

High temp today is -7C without windchill, doesn't seem to be much better over the weekend. Might make a 100 miler on Sunday even tougher :/

I ask the question as I've got a pair of Black Adidas Morka's. As you can see, the sole is thin and not that wide in the center. Even on my 'worn' flat pedals, my feet are starting to hurt after a couple of miles. I mostly wear them whilst travelling to and from work.

Ta very much :D

Having used 5.10s, i can safely say they aint as good as people make out. They do grip fine yes, but they fall apart quickly (mine aint lasted a year). Which isnt good when your paying £70+ for them! Towards the end of last year i started using my old mike 6.0s. I loved them so much i went out and bought a new pair of £35 and ive been using them. Tons of grip, even on the standard pedals that came with my session. And even if i buy two pairs in a year, still works out same price as 5.10s!

I leaning towards the skate style of shoe. Well an Adidas flavour anyway. More practical for me really as Im usually picking shopping / bits and bob's on the way home from work etc. Plus they wouldn't look too odd when popping for a quick pint when we finally get some sun :p

FSA Pig's are probably the best value out there. Depends what you want though.

Would like sealed bearings rather than loose for the XC, but able to take the dirt jumping through the summer.

My LBS is offering the Ritchey WCS for £30, wondering if that is up to the job or not.

I am looking for advise on MTB tyres, I need a new set and not sure which to go for. Being in central Scotland I use the red routes at Glentress and Innerleven weekly and visits to the other XC tracks that are part of the 7stanes. I currently use a Scott hardtail although planning to get a full suspension bike this year.

Tyres tend to be a very personal thing, I have and use for summer Maxxis Ignitor XC Tyre 62a compound and for winter Maxxis Ardent Tyre 60a compound. Although this year I didn't take the ignitors off they seemed fine for everything I have been doing.

Continental Mountain King Superonic 2.2 and 2.4 worked well for me at Glentress. The protection version might be a good choice also.

As others have said, go for the Pig. It wont let you down! But it may weigh you down :p

The bike is already in the 34-35lb range anyway, only running 9 speed. Get some funny looks from others on the ride but I keep up okay.

Pig DH Pro it is then, will have a chat with the LBS on Monday. Thanks for everyone's help on this.
