As long as it hasnt been bent or twisted out of shape then it should be easy enough to fix.
Park Tool have a good guide to help you. Depending on age and condition of your gear cable , you might want to consider replacing it. Very cheap, will make shifting that little bit easier and could also save you the time/hassle of having an old one snap on you mid-ride. If your going to be adjusting your derailer anyway, it wont be much extra work either.

sweet ta dude! gonna have a mess around with it today and its raining so hard today and cant really go out till it stops a bit :(

gutted tho but really need to get this fixed thanks a lot bud!

its raining so hard in Torquay at the moment but i decided to go out and have a little session through some woods in a little village called abbotskerswell! its only about a 2 mile track very boggy and i got caked in mud! came to a pretty sharp corner i wasn't expecting back wheel just slid and i face planted right into a massive puddle! i didnt get hurt but a lot of people was looking at me thinking wtf i had done when i was riding home lol! good fun tho!

The Man Who Cycled the Americas
Tuesday 23 March
10:35pm - 11:25pm
BBC1
1/3 - North America

Scottish adventurer Mark Beaumont has already cycled around the world, so last year he decided to try cycling the 13,000 miles from Anchorage in Alaska to the bottom of Argentina. And, as an extra challenge, he decided to start and finish the expedition by climbing to the summit of the highest mountains in North and South America. For most of his journey he has no companions other than his bike and his camera (which he calls Wilson, in what's presumably a nod to the Tom Hanks film Cast Away), while he battles wind, rain, heat, isolation , fatigue and occasional run-ins with grizzly bears. Now, three hours watching a bloke on a bike may sound as much fun as mending a puncture in a thunderstorm, but of course the relentless grind of the road is alleviated by the likeable Beaumont meeting various characters, capturing some stunning landscapes and having little adventures en route.

This just arrived today. All set up and ready to go...almost. Unfortunately the valves are so short I can't get my track pump over them (don't fancy doing 130psi on a hand pump)!

Got some new inner tubes with 42mm valves on the way. Hopefully I'll get to ride it at the weekend!

Pretty, pretty. Really tempted by the Planet X bikes, but I always have this niggling worry about how they manage to offer so much for so little.
