absolutely anything to do with a bike really. You could try haggling with the assistant, depends who you get and how desperate they are for sales.

Broke my brake lever at BUCS :( had to pay £35 for a new one!

I can't understand how they can be that much. Got it from CRC and literally it was just a piece of metal in a tiny plastic bag.... crazy.

Not really, but they will be measured on sales, especially after the recent store re-structuring. The main thing they will be targeted on will be the accessory attachment ratio (hence the £50 of free accs with boardmans), so if youre feeling nice buy something cheap like a water bottle or something.

What increase are you looking for?

Speed mainly. Which in turn would use less energy, being the most fuel efficient so to speak.
I was riding the other day and a guy on a tri-bike cruised up besides me - we got chatting for a while, but even on the down hill section he had to brake so that we stayed together :(

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the Boardman Mountain Bike Pro 2010 is like. I'm after a £1000 hard tail to get through my work scheme which has unfortunatley only signed up with Halfords. I was looking at the Giant XTC 2 2010 which is the same price as the Boardman. I know the 2009 model got some good reviews, but is the 2010 any better, and how does it compare to the Giant??

You are doing the Ironman, aren't you?

Course pretty flat?

A time trial (tri) bike is quicker because it's generally very stiff (good power transfer) and it aerodynamic. Have a look at eBay because TT bikes can be anything from £1500 to £15000. It doesn't ahve to be light so you can look at Alu as well as carbon.

did full clean on my bike last night took me 3 hours ended up finishing around 11 last night! went just down to my town for a little jumping which is about 4 miles away! ended up getting a ******* puncture on my rear and having to get a taxi home which cost me 15 quid! talk about gutted lol :(

Yes that's correct, it's this August. Had a look at a few tri-bikes, but think I want to stick with a road bike with aero bars. Been keeping my eye on ebay and a few other sites, if I can get a nice Trek Madone for instance at a decent price - it will be hard to resist!

Oh dear, while checking my bike over as i normally do before a ride, i have noticed cracks and splits in my stem around the bolt areas that clamp to the steerer, so it would appear im out of action till i replace it, but what with? The stem at present is the one the bike came with in 08 lol no idea what it is, bike is a Commencal Combi Disc 08, so can anyone suggest a decent Stem as cheap as possible.

heads up for anyone that wants to venture onto spd's, Lidls are doing some shoes at the mo for £18.99 and they feel quite comfy.
trying them out tonight to see if i can get along with them, will report back

Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit u-lock or the Fagettaboudit chain are the best. The New York series are generally the ones you want.

I'd generally use two locks as well.

^^ This.
