Going back to the topic on lights for a moment, Ive just ordered myself one of these (HL EL-530) I have the model below also which is 1000 cp so will be interesting to see how much brighter this new model is. My EL-500 will be going on my old bike so that my brother has a light when he comes on rides with me.

I got it from ebay from a US seller for £27 which seems like a decent price, as long as i don't get hit with taxes.

Pics of my XT SE on Specialized Nimbus Armadillo bling bling :p

They are great for on the road, only bought them to do the 60 mile bike ride I did, great for on the road, vert fast.

Old Trek 4900 frame I might rebuild next year, thinking of repainting it.

Lock out your forks when riding on-road (if you didn't know that already) if you're doing regular onroad trips I would buy a road bike, MTB's are slow and hard work to keep good speeds up by comparison

arrrghhh. get that hideous whale tale off

and those bar ends could do with removing imo too :p

smart looking wheels though

Nice wheels Cheets, i think i might get some semi slicks for onroad. These off road are quite chunky and don't seem to work well on road. Plus it only takes ten mins to swap them over with QR.

Just went to town to get a few blobs and dropped by one of the LBS to get some GT85, when i was there I notice the new 2007 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp Disc Hardtail, what caught my eye first was the DT Swiss Rims, then i noticed the SRAM X-0 rear Mech, and then i notice the XT crank, Carbon seat post and Avid Juicy 7 brakes...etc. It's truly pimped up version of the normal Stumpjumper.

Then i noticed the bike is reserved for someone call Jenny, this point one of the bike shop guy came over with this lady Jenny (by lady i mean some woman in her 40's, with her husband). The LBS guy was telling her this is the new 2007, "hell of a bike " (his words - no kidding !), basically doing the sell on the bike. Fair enough, until i heard her say "You could put slicks on it right?"

The next few minutes was a bit beyond believe, while she was sitting on it and he is adjusting the position to get her the optimal riding positing on the bike. It is clear to me from the conversation that this woman doesn't want a £1500 MTB with XT/Carbon parts when she is not going to take it down any mountains. This is so like people buying 4x4 and it never see the sight of any off road action. The LBS guy was obviously so greedy and want to sell it, no doubt she'll buy it too and now there is a £1500 bike in Herefordshire somewhere that is used by some "lady" on tarmac forever..... :(

Good thing there's another much better LBS near me, run by true MTB riders. :)

Here's mine. Bought with help from the people on this site.

Got the bike with Hope Mini's on for £550 (a bargain misprint on the net)

Have changed the grips & seat to specialized body Geo, added a water bottle, back pack thing & a wireless scomputer!

Also put road tyres (nimbus i think) on as i use it mostly on the road. So much better since i've done that, canny fast bike, love it.

Grr i hate this sorta thing. I wont sell someone a bike that they dont need just to get the money but i dont own the company so i dont care that much.

Its like a few boys i ride around with, one got a gary fisher kingfisher for a good price for his birthday. X0 rear mech, saints, all sorts of good stuff......i get a shot and the shifting is away to pot and the back is plush whereas the front forks are truely shokcing.....so hard its not natural. Im like set your gears mate...n hes like uh em im just gonna get a new rear mech(X0 again) some people have too much money. Its beyong me......cable stretches so he gets a new 150 odd quid mech. I'll be looking at getting his old one for cheap, thank you very mucho.

Just to make the big bike lovers choke into their cornflakes!
How my bike was setup for the summer season...yes thats rigid :)

Squidgy forks going back on for october the 29th though as we go wales for 3 days riding and drinking, I can ride around here rigid with no problems due to riding here everyday but I dont think I dare risk it in wales ;)

Yep. No wonder he had to get cheap forks :p. Who the **** is eating cornflakes at 8pm though :\.

HEH cereal is fine ALL OF THE TIME. Special Gay at 4am is wheres its it. Ultimate munchies supressor. :p

I never did like the magura lever. Sold the julie before even fitting it to my bike lol.

Juicy 7 carbons for the win though ;)

Everybody knows cornflakes taste better at night!

I imported the martas for half the price that they cost here so it wasnt too bad, the forks rock! really, you'll be suprised how easy it is to ride with no suspension once you get used to it, pretty challenging but fun, squidgies will go on for wales though, my wrists will explode if I ride rigid for that. :)

I sold my juicy carbons for the maguras (theres some pics earlier in the thread).....there a shedload better imo.
