Never realised there was a thread about bikes :D stumbled across it searching about fans of all things :p
Anyway heres a pic of my bike http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/580988/

On the brake issue Hopes arent the best to be honest, mine were very inconsistand when in Les Gets during the summer, and the floating rotors seem to be more of a gimmick than anything. Anyway go rid of the 6 pots now and got myself some Avid Codes :)

Brakes are a very personal choice. I havent tried the Avid Codes - how do you rate them?

I love the V10 :D V nice! See Steve Peat is riding one that is over a lb lighter than last years. It has Carbon Fibre in to too.

yeah steves frame costs £5000 though  well according the daily mail mag anyway, think it was that paper.

i havent been able to ride with the codes yet, waiting on my front wheel build. But from rolling the bike about on its rear wheel in my garage they feel nice :p

This has hydraulics, and is cheaper than the Specialized I previously posted.

Don't you true the wheel after building it :\.

.

yeah but if you build the wheel doing each spoke in equalt turns it will end up almost true and is a doddle to get perfect

a wheel someones just boshed of a big rock :o and stretched spokes/bent rim is a full on nightmare :p

nothing wrong with the x pedals really, bit small, but other than that they are good
I prefer clips myself, Shimano M647's > * tbh, although I'd go for Easton Culley's over the Azonics. They're not bad though :).

ISIS gets slated by the majority but my mates riding some cheap RPM cranks on an ISIS BB and hes 16 odd stone......breaks everything on a bike and he has been fine for ages.

Saints looks gorgeous though.

missed the whole thread has anyone actually managed to snap any cranks ?

im guessing youve just snapped ,axles ,bearings etc

ive seen my mate (who is a total nutter ,deathwish etc) drop off a tottally ridicoulous drop on a hardtail with 25 quid FSA power pros :p

funniest thing was that the guys who built the drop where all on 2 grand full on freeride bikes and wouldnt do it

the lad has a demo9 now and when he rides it its just mental to be honest.

speaking of cranks im thining of putting the profiles of my bmx onto the kona for over winter ? since im pretty new to gears and crap how easy will this be ? will they even fit ? ( they have a euro bottom bracket before you mention it )

ill have to go single ring on the front wont i ? wich isnt a problem

also i still havent ordered a harder spring for the rear for my fat ass . where can i find out what size etc ill need ?

I seen someone ride down Fort Bill after snapping a crank off a few years ago! I bent my old Deore Cranks a couple of years ago. That's all I have seen. But i don't do DH. And errr...i snapped my heckler (pics in this thread...somewhere). My pal just cracked his Mongoose Teocoli.

Edit for pic:

Don't know much about BMX's, I know they use a bigger BB shell to mountain bikes but thats it.

Your Spring should have written on it something like 450*2.25. 2.25 being the stroke which must be the same. 450 being the weight in lbs. You also need to know the unsprung length of the spring or...even just the model and year of the shock you are using. What shock is it? What bike?
