I meant it in the sense that manufactures wont be putting this on full builds as standard due to maintenance etc. Problem with airshocks is they aint as forgiving when neglected. Dont get me wrong, all shocks aint, but a standard coil shock will stand upto a lot more abuse, thats my reasoning as to why air shocks will never take off. Also the fact that air forks/shocks feel horrible half way down a 5min run and dont feel the same as when you started off. However they seem to have corrected this issue but only time will tell on that front.
As for the 40's, i wouldnt say they need a hell of a lot of servicing, they require a lower oil and lube done every so often and maybe a full service say every half a year if your giving them a thrashing every weekend, so maybe a full year without having to send them back to Mojo. As compared to Boxxers, which as mine felt crap out of the box, had to send them back to fix that, got them back and they started clunking so sent them back again, this resulted in a new compression cart being fitted. Then after only a few more months they became super stiff which resulted in my having an off at Cwmcarn at the DH meet we had. So its either spend over £100 having them TFTuned to fix these problems (Which some people say are still the same after TF) or go for a fork which works. I guess maybe ive had a bad experience, but to say 40's require a lot of servicing is a bit mad when you think Rockshox cant even get a pair of Boxxers working out of the box?
