I think it's really cool that it's just been built by locals and there's hardly any litter around either, it seems the track is pretty well looked after.Done it - Di2 groupset ordered and arriving over the next few days![]()

I went to check out the downhill track at Storthes hall woods in Huddersfield today.
It's pretty short from top to bottom, a run maybe takes 40secs - 1 min (or longer if you're me!) and there's loads of jumps, drops and berms.
There's a few drops and jumps that are way above my ability level but I thought I'd take a few piccies anyway!
Pretty big gap with my bike for comparison:
A view from the gap to the landing:
A really fast berm:
A view down to a berm before the one pictured above:
Another drop before the berms above:
Luckily most of these features have chicken runs aroundI think it's really cool that it's just been built by locals and there's hardly any litter around either, it seems the track is pretty well looked after.

Actually, I forgot to ask - Do any of you roadies use "wing" shaped bars?. If so, how do you find the flat topped surface. More comfortable than standard profile/oversized bars?.
I have to admit, I'm rarely on the drops, I prefer riding on the hoods or the top part of the bars so I'm interested to hear if the bars you can buy with the "wing" shape are more comfortable or afford you any other advantages/benefits ( other than having somewhere to route yer cables ) ?.
That, and there are some nice carbon ones on the Bay just now that my Paypal account is calling me to buy..........![]()
So's your face![]()

How do you get here? I might head over next week from Sheffield and check it out
) and head down the wall, keep going and eventually you'll start to see the top half of the track (a few doubles). If you google Storthes Hall downhill you'll find a few threads around and about with different descriptions of how to get there.
Something like the FSA K Wing. They have an pronounced flat top section on them :-
That looks like allot of fun. Thanks for posting the pics
Really looking forward to having a blast on my first DH run next month
