My Tesco innertubes lasted me through France just fine, my favourite tracks being the French National and Swiss national .. both of which are rock city!
As long as you have dual ply tyres, I see no need for silly heavy tubes.

Got the wheels, I'll be interested to see their weight against my Azonic Outlaws.Guess who just joined the Deemax club?
edit: 330g lighter for just the wheels, minus 800+g on tubes = 1130g/2.5lb less rotating mass. Maxxis UST Minions are lighter than my current Nevegals too

Doing Lee Quarry tomorrow and again on the 24th, in terms of directions, I'm assuming it can be accessed from the road off Newchurch Road, next to Urbansoul Design OL13 OBB ? Can't seam to find directions into it.

Ok heres a question guys..further to my creaking/clicking noise hunting, ive seriously narrowed it down to the front only. So with my front brake on and push the front forward with the wheel locked i get a "Crack"/"Click", then pull back and another, i can do this forever and sometimes you get 2 or 3 of them happen at a time...Its gotta be the headset i think..All preloaded and infact no amount of preload stops it...cups moving in the frame? cups slightly skewed? Any ideas?

Can anyone comment on Shwalbe Marathon Cross as a choice of tyre for a combination of on/off-road touring with a hardtail? The other one I'm considering is the Land Cruiser.

Yes, that's the junction. Just turn in there, follow the road round to the right and park on the scrubland at the bottom of the lane. You'll see other cars parked up there with racks etc. Then start peddaling up the lane, my favoured technique is to find something interesting on the front wheel and don't look up till you reach the gate
Dirt in between the stem/bars? A pal of mine had this problem, went to the bike shop thinking his forks were about to die to be told: "clean yer bike". lol

I need some gearing advice. I've got a 3x8 speed (I think that's the correct terminology, I'm a bit new to bikes - 3 gears on front, 8 on rear anyway) and for example, in 1st gear at the front the chain rubs against the gear arm when it's in 1 or 8 on the back.
So when it's in gear 1 on the back, it rubs on the left side of the arm, and rubs on the right when in gear 8. It means it makes a horrible noise when peddling and can't be good for the chain/overall efficiency.
How can this be fixed?

Sounds like your front mech needs adjusted but even then you still get very sligh rub in 1st at the front 8th at the back as you don't want to use that ideally.
Undo the front cable and make sure the mech is parralel with the chainrings on your front gears, it needs to be about 2mm above the top chainring aswell but this rarely needs adjusting.
screw out the L or Low screw on the mech so it sits 1-2mm from the chain when in 1st at the back
Wind the barrel adjust on the front gear shifter(It's ont he end of the gear cable) out a turn or two and clamp the cable to the mech again.
If it's not rubbing in 1st and 1st anymore shift to 2nd at the front and check for rubbing.
If it's rubbing on the inner side of the mech screw the barrel adjuster in until the rubbing stops. If it's not shifting to 2nd you need to tension the cable more and try again.
This way should mean you can use 1-8 at the back in the 2nd cog at the front with no rubbing at all.

I get rub on the following gearings: 1x1,7,8 | 2x7(slight),8 | 3xALL. It's almost like the gear 'lever' is too narrow, or is this normal?
I'll post a bad pic in a second
.Edit: This is in 3x4, and you can see it's touching the side of the lever quite a lot: 5,6,7 and 8 it's touching even more and even 1,2 and 3 are slight.

Hey guys. Just found a massive slice in my rear Schwalbe Blizzard tyre on my Cube Peloton Road bike. Apparently it's a 700x25c tyre. All I can find on chain reaction cycles is a Schwalbe Blizzard Sport tyre which is 700x23. Will that still fit? Is it just slightly thinner or do I need 25c tyres?
I'm a complete noob when it comes to this kind of stuff so any help is appreciated.

Unless it's taken a hit it shouldn't be. The screws are for stopping the mech throwing the chain in towards the bike(the Low screw) and the High screw is for stopping the mech moving too far away from the bike.
If you're getting rubbing in all gears in the 3rd cog you need to take the H screw out a bit.
You tend to get slight rub with in 1x7-8 as the chain is at such an extreme angle. Best way to get it right is shift to 2x1 and screw the barrel adjuster in to loosen the tension in the cable until the rubbing stops. That should mean i won't rub in 8th gear aswell if you get it right.

Just to clarify which way round the L and H screws are: I'm assuming it's low/high when the bike's upright? I've obviously got it upside down at the moment so I need to adjust the bottom one?
