Ok so the MountainKings seem to be a good bet then. How do I know what size I want, ie a 2.2 or 2.4?

I run a 2.4 up front and 2.2 at the rear ;)

I am running Some Panaracer Fire XC at the mo, seem to be my tyre of choice at the the minute. A mate is running the mountain kings and he did not like them said they had far to much give in slippy/wet conditions.

Is he running Supersonic or just standard MK's? As the standard compound ones are not so good.

and wd40 isnt a lubricant if thats what your trying to achieve...

I had this argument before and I was on your side. However, there are enough people out there who use it as a lubricant for me to give it a go.

What do you know, it works. I probably use Finish Line in my drive train once a week and use GT85 or WD40 each evening. My current chain and drive train is on 3500 miles and my LBS reckon it's got about 1500 miles left. This is about the same as if I was using Finish Line every night, so I'm not getting any additional wear.

Also, my brakes now work properly.

I'm converted.

Does anyone know if its possible to remove the integrated headset on a carbon enduro s-works?

Is it possible just to buy replacement bearing races without going through spesh themselves?

Its just my headset creeks and after taking the headset apart to grease ive noticed the bearings cases are cracked with shards of metal in the head tube.

Any ideas if the bearings are available separate?

Thanks

wd40 to try and loosen the brake bolts up, the front brake is a disc, but the rear is cruddy V type,

when looking to turn heads, i pour coke over my pads and rims and let em dry, makes an aweful noise but god they grab ;)

pffffft coke can is rubbish, but i used to ride trials, and anything to make the brakes grab harder was a good thing ;) it's only annoying when ya gradually slowing down a long hill or some such lol

Yes, yes and yes.

Bearing come in sizes such as 6802RS. Find out what bearing size you need and replace them. You could re-pack the existing bearings but it's not generally advised. Saying that the Enduro headset is a bit naff (if the carbon version has the same one that is on the other versions). I would get a new Chris King or Acros headset. You can afford it! :p

Please can someone critique my shopping basket for a commute to work package?

Thanks in advance!

Giro Hex - Nice helmet, have you had one on your head? Worth testing clothing before you buy.

Also, is your commute a long one? Can't be too far on Guernsey surely!

If you're not tight on cash, that looks a fine basket.

Thanks a lot feller....ill try and find the size i need.

Id rather not replace the cups as ive heard its a risky job without a proper press.

Me doing some XC trails with my dog on Sunday.
This was a short little edit taken at the end of the day when he was pooped. Gonna get another one done next time showing him and me hitting a few tables together :)

Cool dog (i want one!!) and awesome video :) Thanks for sharing that!

Yea there were a few spots where he was a bit closer than usual.
Think he was worn out a bit causing him to slow down mid run.

I've not taken him on a XC ride for ages and he is carrying a bit more weight than usual and fitness is lacking... much like his master! :)

In the slow mo in the berms you could see those K9supergrips losing a bit of traction! :D

Use a bit of wood and a hammer. :D If you buy from a LBS they should fit it for free. TBH I was aprehensive installing my Chris King on the Blur XCc. Too much expensive bling for me to FUBAR!

Your dogs legs remind me of Ichabod Crane for some reason. :p
