I went for some Pararacer Fire XC pro tyres, I'm using schwable marathon plus tyres at the moment, coming from the stock fast trak ones, where after a year or so I started getting a puncture every month due to glass on the road, I think the tyres were just worn out.

Can anyone with a bit more knowledge that me tell me the basic differences between these 2 bikes and what would be best to go for ?? -

Specialized is a well known brand, my friend had a hardrock years ago and it was pretty good.

The fork will be better, also I notice things like sealed cartridge bearings on the bottom bracket, double sealed bearings on the hubs etc which will probably last you a lot longer.
I prefer SRAM components too, which the specialized has.

Just my opinion but I would go for the Hardrock 100%.

Also I would buy from a local bike shop, and make them check everything first. Gears should be aligned perfectly and there should be no lateral play in wheels, cranks, headset etc.

Might find the Panaracers to be draggy on the road.

I raced on Sunday, did the Bordon 4 hour enduro. Did 35 miles all sniggle track (spelt wrong ;))

Some very poor photos as I have not bought them yet.

Cardiovascular wise, I’m fine but need to work on the leg muscles. I had the opportunity to do 6 laps as the 5th was 15 minutes before the 4 hour cut off. But had nothing left in the tank.
So not so Specialised after all. Im going to make a huge effort before the years out to be competetive in the spring. Wish me luck.

SDK - Sig is very close to yours, hope its OK?

Actually I Googled your new sig image about 2 hours ago and was going to add it into mine but decided against it.

Where in the UK was that event?

Thanks for that... Looks like I have missed out tho as I am failing to find the 2010 Disc model in 21" or 23" frame in black or white :(

Edit: Looking at the 2011 model non-disc (prefer colour scheme)... Is it worth the extra £140 than the B'Twin Rockrider ??

Hey guys, i am considering getting a decent road bike, i currently have a £200 ridgeback hybrid.
I'll to take a 2010 bike and potentially grab a good bargain.
Can i get some opinions on the following and which would be best:

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/allez-16-2010-road-bike-ec019545
Can pick this up at local bike shop for £399

Or either of these:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=44407
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=44408

Or any other good bargains that may be out there, happy to spend up to £600 ish on the bike.
Will be used for a 6 mile round trip commute to work on roads. Would also like some decent distances at weekends on roads as well.

Many thanks :)

Uh oh, those tyres are too thin for this thread.

But, I have ridden an Allez before and they are a nice bike. But I can't help but fall for most Cube bikes I see.

I'd be tested to get the Spesh and save the rest of the cash :)
