One more day left in Scotland.
Ae was a great XC ride yesterday. Rode Kirroughtree today and I forgot what an awesome trail it is - easily the best singletrack MTB ride in the country.

Just Dalbeattie to do tomorrow now.

This is what I'm building up at the moment, nothing special but not too shabby for spare change from eBay. In two minds as to whether to leave the current colour as there is a few marks and scratches on the frame, or to get it stripped and sprayed... There's a Powder Coaters across the road from me that'll do it for £60.

The FSA Big Fat Pig headset cups have come off, and are being replaced by Hope Pick'n'Mix headset cups, which havent come yet :(.

Current got the following waiting to go on:

Manitou Revox ISX rear shock
Rockshox Domain R forks
mavity Gap Stem
Nukeproof Warhead Bars w/ Nukeproof lock-on grips
Nukeproof Warhead Seatpost
Madison Flux Saddle

Wheels up next for purchase, but still not sure what to go for. Money's tight so it's going to be a slow slow slow build. :(

bad news canyon have 0 mountain bikes left:( small bikes dont count as real bikes...;)

so have to wait till the new 2012 bikes come into stock before i can order one as i really wanted the nerve xc 6 hopefully the 2012 be simular spec+price.

its either that or try ordering a on-one 456 hardtail frame and attempting to build myself, still will cost more than xc6:eek:

i know you guys dont recommend Giant bikes much here but i got my dealer pack this morning and you should see the price/kit on most of the bikes

OMG is all i can say!

30 speed slx groupset with xt rear mech and rockshox for for 679 retail anyone?

trance x4 for 1249 anyone???

the one i like most is the new XTC composite hardtail with a chrome paintjob, bling isnt the word!

Definietly going to be a strong year for Giant dealerships.

Wow, Giant are feeling the pinch from Canyon/YT too. So much for the big hikes in bike prices I envisaged.

yup, speaking to a couple of my reps and apparently Giant, and Merida ( the 2 biggest bicycle compainies in the world ) are going to absoloutly destroy everyone in their 2012 ranges.

Gaint Defy composite road bike with a 799 gram frame weight ( yes that light! ) for 1249 with 105 groupset......

I think its good that manufacturers are being squeezed by Canyon/YT specially Canyon as there bikes have been getting fantastic reviews and really show other bike brands up a lot.

Also goes to show just how much "extra" was being charged on bikes.

Even though my new bike hasn't arrived yet I've already got my eye on something meatier. What would you be looking at for purely lift assisted/bike park duties - a freeride bike or a full on dh?

Cannondale prices are staying the same but we ain't dealing with them anymore...check out ebay for some 105 equipped road bikes with no reserve soon I guess.

Felt prices seem to be down this year Z85 with 105 is down from £1k to £900.

Kona have shot up as the Blast was £700 and is now £850.

Marin seem quite expensive this year but we just took them on so have no idea on the old pricing. Should be fun not discounting and not selling bikes online.

I placed an order with crc last night at 23.46, got an email this morning at 6.58 saying its been dispatched. How do they manage it?

The 2012 specs and prices are already out and the £1249 Defy is Tiagra.

Also the frame weight will be more than 799g. The 2012 TCR Advanced SL frame weighs 820g but that costs £3,500.

it wont, the thinking was that ppl buying a defy dont want pure stiffness to weight ration so they gave the frame a lot more flex and shaved every last gram off it.

weight is a confirmed 799 grams :)
