Cool, see you there :-)
Look out for the ravishingly beautiful bald fella with a guttural accent. I'll be hanging though, big party Sat night :p

Pumptrack is indeed open.

Tried my first big double earlier, was about 6 foot. Ended up casing it but stayed on the bike, didn't have balls to hit it again carrying more speed. Might be braver if I had somebody riding with me but didn't want to end up in a ditch by myself

Place is falling to pieces, needs some TLC from the trail fairies.

Not around next week -holiday ;)

We'll have to organise something for later in the summer for BPW! New trails coming soon too.

Looking forward to taking the Shan there!

Should arrange something for October, aka when I'm back in the country and hopefully on a new bike ;)

Twin shans? :D

First proper ride with the new gearing, absolutely love it! :D Not a single problem with it.

Going to FOD on Sunday for a ride.. Not been there in years

still loving my btwin 540 well over 100 miles on it now, probably creeping near 200 and in another 4 or 5 weeks im to take it back for its 3 month check up,

only problem i have and its minor is some chain suck some times when going from big cog to mid on front, might just be a burr or something as it seems to be improving :)

think the most sensible thing i can do with it would be to put thinner tyres on it when these ones get run down more as im 50/50 on road off road, the tires i have are a lot thicker than dads on his 520 and nearly twice the price lol think ill try a pair same as dads and see how it goes when i need to change :)

oh dads loving his 520 as well, we are both in love with our bikes just the same as we liked the old ridgebacks which we rated pretty highly, gave my old 602ex to my freind who lives here now im just trying to get him to ride it lol :)

Get bigger tyres on there, and get down to Glentress ;)

lol i thought these tyres were big but then i cycled along side my sister on a long walk with her dogs earlier, and on the way back she said what way through, the forest or the road way again?

i said forest like a dumbass thinking of the path way through the forest but no.

she ended up walking ahead through so much crap and no path about 200 metres straight up..... what looked like a mini mountain, i nearly back flipped my bike it was that steep and on other bits my tyres were struggling like hell lol

never again she can walk her dogs alone next time :p

ill settle for good old road, shared paths and some off roading but not where my dumb ass sis and her dogs feel like going :p

I'm using my employers Ride2Work scheme to get some accessories for my Hardrock which I haven't used for a while.

I figured mudguards would be a good idea.
Using EvansCycles i've gone with a Crud Catcher for the rear wheel. What about the front wheel? Any recomendations?

This has both front and rear and looks like it contains the rear one I was going to buy seperately. I know so little about bikes and assume the race in the name of the product doesn't mean it wouldn't fit or be suitable for a mountain bike?

Goto order before Monday I believe.
Cheers

I had my first proper ride out today at Dalbeattie since moving to 1x10. It's safe to say I'm completely sold on it. I'm using a Wolf Tooth Components direct mount narrow/wide 28T ring with an 11-36 cassette and never felt like I needed more range. I'd probably lower my cadence on some of the flat sections if I had more gears but I don't think I'd be going any faster. I'm just using a standard x9 rear mech so considering I didn't drop my chain once is it worth moving to a clutch one when it needs replacing?
