thanks guys

just got back from a quick blast around the streets, i couldnt stop myself butdecided it was best to come home before i wake up half the area with brake squeal :p

theres loaaaaads of post left and the seat is a bit higher now , it was so low then that it looked like it would hit the frame if all the travel was used

am bloomin glad i got one with the revised travel plates as i must admit i was scared by the pictures people posted earlier of bent ones

and i sure intend on doing some big hits :D

im gunna guess 40 lbs or more ! modern bmxs are 25-30 lbs and this feels like a tank compared to my bmx, hopping it is like weight lifting lol

hmm just found somewhere saying the 2005 one was 40lbs and the spec is almsot exactly the same

PS can anyone recommend a few freeridey XC bikes or light freeride bikes that my bro could look into.

he started of riding XC on an orange gringo but likes doing light dh and freeridey trails now wich his bike cannot handle at all.

hes been looking at the orange 66 range as theres some good deals about but we cant find weights for them anywhere and the specs make me think theyl be too heavy for longish rides.

My local bike shop you can get a £1900 Trek Remedy 6 full susser for £875, they have a few in. Saw it in person last week, save yourself a few quid :)

I love the look of the Kona's but they sure are noisy doing DH. More suited to big drops, big hits IMO.
Never put Barrell off ;). Most dh bikes are noisey because of the chain devices they have on them ;).

Something like a Cannondale Prophet SL would probably fit the bill, they're probably expensive new, but you can probably get them for a decnt price second hand :).

53% off :O

looks sweet too

I know, £600 off for my Trance !! :D They only have the bikes in 1 size thou but for DH you want a small bike so the 15.5" is perfect for most but HUGE people. They get a lot of Demo bikes in this time of year it seems, I also saw a £1400 Gary Fisher Hardtail in last week for £600, but it was too small at 15" otherwise i would've thought hard about it.

The last DH race I was at you could spot the Kona's a mile off. Over small rocky sections Kona's sound rough, by comparison the VP free / V10's are silent over the small stuff.

You love to pimp Santa Cruz don't you? :p. The riders all learn to ignore it after a while, they get used to it.

Konas are loud loud? One bike you can hear coming as a 22x damn those things rattle and clunk constantly

Nice spesh :D. That's some piggybag on the shock . I'd suggest maybe waiting a bit for some new pedals (unless you're going to nick the 520s off the GT) as there are some new XTR clipless pedals coming along (or you could also get the 647s which are aslo nice) :).

XTR pedals are probably a bit pricey for something that bounces off all the rocks :p Anyway, I was thinking about getting something with a small platform, rather than just a suspended clip. Any recomendations?
