*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

Yeah, 30g is 180 calories...Pistachios is good the fact that I need to open each one to eat them, I can't grab a handful and shove them in my mouth.
i would sit there and open one by one and finish the pack.... sucking salt out from each ..

1000cal in a pack of peanuts is a joke ...and then water retention with all this salt haha

Before I decided to go on a diet, that weekend before I went to Lidi to shop, I got...

1 - 200g of Fruit and Nut Chocolate bar
2 - 200g of chocolate raisins
3 - 200g of chocolate peanuts
4 - Dried Mango
5 - Pistachios
6 - Mini Snickers type of chocolate, pack of 6 or 7.
7 - Packet of Chocolate Crepes

I ate all but 1 of the Mini Snickers, gave the last one away along with the Fruit & Nut when I decided to start. I ate 1 of the chocolate crepe since in week 1 and gave the rest away, I ate it in the afternoon about 3pm and found the sugar crash after worse than not eating it at all and staying peckish. Been working through the mango and the nuts. Not opened the chocolate raisins and nuts yet, not sure what to do with those lol.

Can't remember what my starting weight in this thread was, 90 or 91kg back in October. Weighed in this morning before my ride at 82.1kg. Happy seeing the numbers go down but I don't really feel any different in myself and with no end goal in mind I'm just going to continue not eating the rubbish I'd binge on beforehand.

You'll notice that difference on a new bike i imagine ;)

(You can't escape)

I am now back to my weight 5 days ago...and not sure why it went up 500g in 1 days between Sunday Morning to Monday Morning....anyhow, I am going to ruin it all again I feel because I plan to get dim sum tomorrow, looking at the calories, it works out to about 200-300 calories per dish and I can eat like 8 different ones all by myself and then some fried rice on top lol Which would be like 3000 calories!

Are you able to share the dishes and bulk out the meal with some more veg? Failing that, 10,000 steps averages to 500 calories burnt!

I will be going to China Town so it’ll be what it’s on the menu. I will probably eat 50% of it and take the other 50% to go and eat that on Sunday.

If I can get a bigger deficit today then it will carry over to tomorrow so in theory I can eat everything I want, still full and not be over my target.

Honestly, 8 dim sum dishes plus rice is enough food for 2-3 people lol

Day to day variance can be entirely detached from what you have eaten, dont get to caught up in it. I can have daily swings of 500-800g, it can be impacted by things like how much exercise you've done on the previous day, how your potassium levels are, when you last went for a number 2 etc. This is why you have to focus on the trend and over a period of time. A week on week average is a good comparison point.

10k steps at a decent pace will average 500 cals, but 10k steps plodding about or sporadically spread over the day wont. You need to get that heart rate up to help.

Oh yeah, totally, it is the trend that matters more. But looking at this, it feels like I made zero progress this week lol

As for 10k steps a day, I hit that most days, it's not 500 cal though. It is more like 400 for me.

I've hit a bit of a plateau since Christmas. 125kg to 105kg (May to Dec) was nice and steady last year but I can't seem to move much below 105kg. Physically I don't really have any time left in the week to do more so looking on advice to shake it up maybe?

Currently fasting 6 days a week 16 hours.

Current exercise is:

2 x 1 hour 6 a side football.

2 x 45 minute spins

2 x rounds of golf (minimum)

Average of 22500 steps a day since Jan 1.

Not a big drinker either usually a 2-3 Friday and Saturday. Don't touch the stuff during the week.

I feel great mind.

How many calories are you eating a day?
I have no idea - probably something I should start tracking but feels like such a chore to be honest. Ive tried the odd week cutting out bread (I love bread) and those weeks have been really hard, I felt completely wiped out half way through.

Lunch and Dinner (12-8 is when I break the fast).

But what do you eat?

Calorie deficit is the key to lose weight. Exercise do burn energy but it takes a lot to burn say the same calories as a Big Mac, about running 10k, average distance for playing a whole football match to burn just 600 calories. It’s kinda crazy.

I suspect the plateau is caused by the balance of the 2 now.
