I just adopted 36/12 method with me eating 125% of my maintenance calories in the 12 hour window. End of the day it's about calories in and out so having a small amount of calories on a "fasting" day would still result in a big calorie deficit.
I simply prefer the bigger intake as it allows me to sneak in plenty of tasty food into my diet that I otherwise couldn't and still get good macros. Was also helping with the power in the gym which is bummer now with them being closed, so doing my best with bodyweight and kettlebell exercises to work against the inevitable muscle loss.
This is definitely on a more extreme scale of a diet and not for everyone, I've always had the ability to go without food for a long time (despite loving it!) so it's not as hard but by no means easy for me.
This is not a long term solution but see how long it lasts to kick start the diet now that I adjusted better to the lockdown lifestyle.
