Be very wary of bikes covered in stickers. People will often use stickers to cover up scuffs or other imperfections.
Also, if they've been on a long time and seen a lt of light they will likely leave marks if the paint around them has faded.

I didn't think about that, good point. I thought, I finally found a SV650 with all the bits I Want for a decent price. But the stickers could be hiding scratches etc like you said. I'll skip this one than, the other SV that caught my eye is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-SV-650-K8-2008-/191804216328

You don't need to discount it but if you get to view it then pay attention to any areas that are succeptible to damage. (Levers, mirrors, bar ends etc.)

Mine is an 05

Had a nice little ride out this morning, 2 days staying clean must be the longest it's stayed shiny in months!

I did have a little faux pas managed to double dip the shift lever coming up to a roundabout, fishtail ahoy! Very glad the road was dry and decent or I may not have kept it upright.

That sucks :( so you can't ride for at least another 3 months :(

Yeah, but that's one of the reasons why I'm being so picky with the bikes, I'm waiting for that bike you see for the first time and say 'she's the one'. I had that with my KTM...

I wouldn't want to ride in this weather though, I would much rather have a car. Its windy, cold and constantly raining. :p

If I get a bike, I couldn't just let it sit there... my will is not as strong, as some of the guys on here. I'm too inpatient! :(

If something pops up that I like, I'll buy it though. :D

See this is my issue with letting sat navs do their own thing, and why the ability to completely manage your own route and upload it is priceless...

I want to do a quick 2 day trip in April/May, probably down to le Havre, so I picked a destination, and let the tomtom pick a winding route. Not far in to the route and it appears to want to take me down this road...

It's not the sat navs fault, but I do wish there was an option to 'stick to main roads' as I can see the winding road option taking you down lots of single track roads ignoring the perfectly paved road a few hundred metres away, which it in fact it has done in this case! This shortcut avoids the main road for no more than a mile or 2.

I used the winding road option when I went to Wales last summer it was great once I hit the border but up until then it was taking me down some real pain in the arse roads, badly surfaced and about the width of a wide footpath. Not fun on a road bike, wouldn't have been quite so bad on an adventure style bike but still I was just waiting for a head on!

Yeah I suppose it tries to find windy roads where there are none, and so picks the little roads like that. At least when importing routes, if it for some reason chooses a stupid tiny road rather than the main road literally next to it, it's just a case of adding another waypoint to force the route where you want it to go.

Just follow the route you want and let the satnav reroute itself?
Try remembering which road you want to go down when you're 500 miles into the trip, in deepest Germany, on day 3... :p:D
Do some research and use a map...

I'll have maps as a back up, and will have chosen the route from google maps, but trying to read a map and work out were you're going, when in you're in a strange place, is just too much hassle. The whole idea of a satnav is to simplify the riding part - once you've got the route sorted you can then relax and enjoy the ride/roads/scenery without having to spend time faffing about when you miss turns or trying to read a map at 60mph trying to work out if that turn was the road you wanted to take.

To be fair I'd be all over satnav if they weren't so expensive. I've got an intercom so just use the tomtom voice directions from my phone but I don't think the app can import GPS files which renders it pretty useless on long trips away.
