Well the cam chain wasn't making the noise in the end. Once the panels were off I started her up and found that the noise was coming from the exhaust....

Looks like a whole new system required sadly as I can see through the pipe at the right angle

when was the last time it had an oil and filter change as well? Because that filter looks like it's been there a while to.

I just found a smoke visor on ebay from Korea for £17 quid which ain't bad, might go for that as I'm not reading great reviews on these visor tint inserts.

Not sure about tint ones, but pinlock inserts are great, stops it misting up and actually work. Just go for a clear pinlock though & nice dark visor. Wonder if the cheaper copies or as good as the originals that cost about £40?

Personally I wouldn't go for a cheap after market visor, last thing you want is it shattering because it's thinner or made from cheaper materials.

My original plan was to use a cheap stick on tinted visor insert in my clear visor.

But they're apparently crap, I don't have a pinlock visor so getting a tinted pinlock insert isn't an option.

I was even going to to try window tint film but if I can get a smoke visor for £20 quid that seems to be a sensible option.

I don't know that it is a cheap aftermarket one, I think it might be genuine. HJC has factories in Korea and that's where I got my breath box from but I'll double check.

Oil is in good nick but yes I thought the same about the filter. I was told it was standing for a bit when I bought it though so it could have made it look aged

for the £20 or so it costs I'd drop the oil and change the filter anyway.

Lower on my list than other things atm mate. Buying a house next month and the exhaust system is going to cost £100+ before I get it fitted by the looks of it.

Contr0l3r do you still have the exhaust system on yours?

Fair point that exhaust definitely needs sorting first. Going 2nd hand standard or using it as an excuse for something shiny and upgraded?

I'd love to get good set and make it sound as best as it can, but I can't spend on anything I don't have to atm.

That's just ****ing stupidity. If you can't see, pull over and sort it out or slow down, don't just keep going!

Absolutely every Saturday in winter I face the same view just slow down and use hand over forehead my dark visor does not block out the intense sun like the above just treat the sun like if some one has full beam on what a plonker.

you only have to dip your helmet down till the top ridge blocks out the sun,no need for dark visors or anything,oh and slow down lol

poor chap I bet that hurt

Dipping your helmet is not enough on my home ride a dark visor makes it even worse.

Clear pretty much all of winter for me as I ride home in the dark (although could do with it some mornings, but it isn't worth the hassle carrying the light one for the dark ride home).

Then pretty much purely dark visor through summer as it's bright before and after work.
