I think the excess they wanted on my YBR was basically what the bike was worth

Think I'm going to take a trip into town at some point this weekend and look at some leathers, fancy doing a track day at some point and they seem to be a necessity.

Yeah you'll need full leathers for a track day. Best to get a 2 piece set so you can wear the jacket in summer, much better than textiles when you're out for a blast.

That's my plan I'd never find a one piece to fit anyway, even a two piece is going to be a struggle

I need to pick up some leather trousers to complete my leathers, I'll use them for touring too as they're very waterproof for leathers. I love my furygan stuff, brilliant kit.

I believe you won't be allowed on track without a minimum of 2 piece textiles that zip together.

I think the avoid MCE thing is more to do with the LOL excesses and that's why they're cheap. £800-£1000 excess? No thanks!

I really wish we could review/comment on specific insurance companies like this, but there isn't any point unfortunately. I might go with them, get a completely different quote with low excess and an amazing legal/claim company. You might go with them, pay over the odds, huge excess and get completely screwed over by the claims company if you come off.

Every time I've renewed insurance, even with the same company, it's underwritten by a different actual insurance company.

Looking at the No Limits track days as that's the ones the guys from work go to and you need 2 piece leathers zipped up as a minimum.

As above, 2 piece leathers that zip all the way around as a minimum, they wont accept the ones that just have a tiny zip strip at the back. Been with all the major track organisers and never seen anyone out in textiles.

Hahaha that's epic! I want one!

Its a Vespa with either 177cc polinii or 192cc MHR.

:p :D

Edit:
I've heard that the SV gets nervous in the corners when you lean more, would that be the reason for GSX1100 suspension on this SV? BTW What do you guys think? Rice or... ?

The stock sv650 suspension is it's weak point so a lot of people replace the rear shock with gsxr or aftermarket models and replace the front springs with something more suited to the weight.

The gsxr front end swap is quite common as well to get better forks in terms of damping and things but by no means needed to make it a good handling bike.

That SV650 is 15 miles away, I'm tempted to go and view it. :) But the price is very suspicious...

Damnit, my left fork seal has gone - all the oil that was in it is now down the fork leg (none on the tyre/brakes) and up my left leg :(

Wondering if (while they'll be off getting new seals and oil fitted) it's worth getting some better springs fitted? And maybe a set of preload knobs if they exist? The forks are Showa non adjustable ones.

Edit: looks like hyperpro do a fork kit for my CB400.

@Paul just go for hyperpro progressive springs, new seals n oil,or new OEM springs if the price is right

Did you hit any potholes recently?

Also seems to be a severe lack of pictures for such a great looking bike according to the write up. The fact it's been converted to naked and had a front end swap would make me think it was at least a cat d possibly cat c write off at one point.

The seller has to state if its a cat c/d when selling, costs nothing to go and look at it

I'm guessing front end swap n rear shock swap is just to improve the handling?
