Any of you Triumph owners want to chime in on how cheese like your metal is? I've always liked the Sprint ST, but looking at the Sprint GT right now, i'm certainly interested.

2015 Speed Triple has been through 2 winters, not a spot of rust. My brother's 2013 Bonneville has been through 4 now I think, not a spot of rust. That's every day riding through all the salt. We do both apply FS365 after washing or after a wet ride.

Interesting.

The Sprint GT could be a bit too much of a tourer that I don't think i'd get enough fun out on a Sunday blast. Will need to try out some bikes.

I'd want something a bit better than the sprint st/gt for the money.

KTM 990 SMT?

On the 'what new bike' front, anything else I should be looking at apart from the VFR800 (5th gen, non VTEC) to replace my CB400? Around £2k, reliable (Jap/german) 750cc+, fairing/screen, decent fuel range (180+ miles/45-50mpg).

vfr motor is king I have a 750 with 71 k on the clock nothing to look at but does what it says on the tin and a great ride I have owned over 30 bikes and the vfr is one of my all time favs I use mine for winter but find myself using as a day to day ride also.

Stay away from the vtec more of an arse to service.

Yeah tbh for the money there's no a lot to beat it, can get one with 40k miles (seems to be the average) for about £2k. Would quite like a HISS model 2000/2001 just purely for the automatic fast idle control, I know there were a few other minor changes.

I'll be using mine as a year round commuter too.

Can anyone tell me what YouTube vloggers use to cover their speedo? I've read a few comments saying that the tape is see through for people but the camera picks it up as a black square.
