I ordered some phone privacy screens yesterday and they are out for delivery now so I'll update when I get them.

Did you use them just for an experiment or a permanent solution?

The only permanent solution is to not record yourself breaking the law.

It is trivial to determine your speed without seeing the speedo. All covering it will do is make you feel safer.

Well that's the Street triple gone now. Nipped up to see a mate in his flat yesterday around 5, then 10 minutes later we heard an almighty crack from outside. Just as I got to the window I see some little **** jump on my bike and ride it off. Just about launched myself out of the first floor window after him! Obviously everyone knows how quick these guys are, but to actually experience it is unreal. Disc lock and steering lock must have only slowed them down by about 10 seconds. Thinking back there was a scooter behind me acting a little strange for a while before I pulled into the road, but didn't think anything of it. Suppose it was them following me.

So in the last two years, that's a 3 month old MT-07 written off by a careless driver, and a triple stolen after owning it for about 10 months. Really considering giving up now, or just getting a track day bike. Will see how it goes with the insurance this time I suppose. Worst part is the Police refusing to come out due to "insufficient resources", then telling me that if it's found dumped, they'll call me to go and drag it out of whichever field it's in myself - and if I want it forensically examined then I will need to pay for it, either personally or through my insurance??!!

My bike was recovered after an anonymous tip off from the public. Was stored under a bike cover, in a parking area outside a block of flats, along with a few scooters and a stolen car. Amazingly about a 3 minute drive from where I live, but several miles from where it was stolen. Really making me wonder if I was followed from home after they'd seen the bike in my garage. Damage looks minimal - petrol cap forced open and broken, rear tyre bald, and whatever damage there is to the ignition/steering lock. Will have to wait to get it back from the police before a full damage assessment. Still mind blowing that I have to pay the police to have it forensically recovered. Absolutely insane if that's the state of the police scotland budget for motorcycle theft!

I wouldn't want the bike back after being ragged.

Yep, my feelings exactly. Don't have much choice though now, unless there's enough damage for a write off.

Once it's gone I'd never be happy riding it again.

Agreed. Aside from the thought of their dirty little backsides all over it, I'll constantly have in the back of my mind questions about what mechanical damage there might been and not have gotten fixed.

Suppose the best I can do is to fix it up and trade it in. Hopefully costs are less/close to my excess, as after running some quotes just now, having a theft claim recorded increases my premiums by a lot. By 4 digits a lot.

At least I get the privilege of paying circa £150 to take some 15 year olds fingerprints off the bike, for absolutely no reason at all!

Just been to Onyerbike in Waddesdon, heaving with bikes, saw my first ever Kawasaki H2, beautiful bike up close.

A lot of posers there though, some walking around in £1200 Dainese leathers thinking they are rossi..

Instantly took a liking to the s1000r, only saw 1 but to me it stood out, that's on the list for my next bike :)

Need some new textile kit. Rukka kit is amazing but just not the right fit for me. Tried 4 sizes of jacket now and they're either too big in chest or too short arms.

Ahh, you're a skinny tall git like me with long arms? Good luck getting any kit that fits!!! :D It's why I've stuck with furygan leathers and textiles, it's the only stuff that fits me.

Do you guys start to notice the summer warriors are slowly getting out? Saw a guy on a fully faired SV in alpinestars leathers, in the corners he was positioned in the inside of the lane and took them at around 30mph. You can easily do 60mph around those bends and you're nowhere near the edge of the tyre. lol Some of them blocked me, ego bigger then their chicken pieces? :p frustrating... :(
