Jesus it must be even rougher than it looks in the pictures if no one's nicked it yet!

Just a tip to everyone if there's a chance you may be out late make sure you've fitted or are carrying your clear visor. 20 miles down the m6 with your visor up is not fun, looked like I'd either taken a lot of drugs or been crying like my whole family had died by the time I got home.

You need heavier bar end weights on a pre 2017 s1000r.

Yeah, there is a guy on the s1000r forum that filled his bars with lead, made them really heavy and no vibration.

Need to find some dense bar ends, can't really make the bars any longer unless i go for shorter bars.

Saw this blacked out version of the superduke on Instagram this morning.

Anyone know of a nice, big bike showroom in or around London? I'm looking to go to one tomorrow but don't really want to turn up to some tiny little place. I want all the metals pls.

Hmmmm. Thinking out loud here.

I can go and buy a scooter on a CBT for £2k and commute on that. Wife doesn't want me to get a bike, she thinks scooters are safer ("because your legs are on the inside" lol) and although I've spoken to her, I need to respect her worrying about me too. The other option is to book an A2 training session with her and see if she likes it. This will be cheaper than a scooter and I can pick up a bike for a few hundred quid to bash around on. Only problem is she doesn't know how ride a geared bike so I'd have to rent a 125 from somewhere and teach her first. I'll have to get her some kit too. I think that might be the best route actually.

I dunno.

Has anyone heard from IC3 lately? How's he doing?

Getting hit is getting hit. My POV is that you are safer on a bike or at least a bigger scooter

Edit: I'm not saying getting hit on a bike is better, I'm saying a bigger engine will help you out of situations that a scooter might leave you in the midst of

Just bought myself some akropovic decat headers, now I just need to find the exhaust I want. I'm thinking Austin racing or sc project.

Went out earlier and the sound is too quiet, a kettle boiling drowns out the sound :p

Really? The S1000R has a pretty decent standard sound compared top most bikes. Obviously it's no Aprilia but the artificial pop-bangs are very nice on gear changes.

It Sounds ok when you come off the throttle in 2nd and 3rd as it pops but 4th, 5th and 6th you don't get any pops.

1st sounds crap too.

Holy crap! That all black duke is incredibly nice!

I was driving home from work when, just before I got home, I saw a beautiful Truxton go past a junction. Well, I only had one thought going through my mind after that...

I kicked my Bonnie into life, with the warm weather it was one kick boom! Gave it a right blast, I even think I got the ton up ;)

Then when I got back home I figured it would be rude not to take the triple out too! I think it may actually be the first time I've ridden the two in quick succession. My goodness is the contrast stark. You go from my Bonnie feeling very fast at 40 to looking down after leaving a junction and realising you're already doing 80 and have to back off. How can that be? My nuts aren't numb yet, where are all the vibrations? The bike is just planted, no unexpected movements, it just goes where it is.

It was an absolutely fantastic evening. The difference in bikes over those 20 years is staggering, it's certainly not as drastic over the last recent twenty years. I've test ridden the newest Ducatis and the difference between my triple and them is nowhere near as great...
