Hmmmm. Thinking out loud here.

I can go and buy a scooter on a CBT for £2k and commute on that. Wife doesn't want me to get a bike, she thinks scooters are safer ("because your legs are on the inside" lol) and although I've spoken to her, I need to respect her worrying about me too. The other option is to book an A2 training session with her and see if she likes it. This will be cheaper than a scooter and I can pick up a bike for a few hundred quid to bash around on. Only problem is she doesn't know how ride a geared bike so I'd have to rent a 125 from somewhere and teach her first. I'll have to get her some kit too. I think that might be the best route actually.

I dunno.

Has anyone heard from IC3 lately? How's he doing?

@IC3 is still recovering, but I think he is making progress now. I think he had a bit of a fiasco with some nurses in another ward, not actually doing their job properly, and causing more harm than good.

I rode a scooter for the first time (My dad to an MOT). It was the weirdest feeling ever, my legs felt all wrong :p Kept feeling for gears when slowing, oh it was a mess. But, it was so easy to ride!

Got the rizoma levers, they are immaculate.

One thing that I've noticed though is that they don't look like they adjust much at all? Maybe they'll be different once fitted?

Rizoma stuff is the best. You need the Elisse mirrors on the S1000R next :)

That looks like a normal amount of adjustment, should be OK unless you have freaky big or freaky small hands :P

I've been looking at the circuit 744 mirrors, they look good. :)

Just been to my local bmw dealer, £200 for the 12k mile service, that's oil and filter, air filter, brake fluid change, general maintenance check and any adjustments that are needed, chain adjusting etc..

Air filter - £45
Oil - £38
Oil filter - £8
Brake fluid - £8
The rest in labour and VAT, talk about exploitation :p

That's the YBR sold, first guy to see it bought it.

Although he did turn up an hour later saying it was smoking and there was a hole in the exhaust he hadn't spotted. ACF50 and a drain hole :D

That's the good part of my day, checked mine over for it's MOT tomorrow and the horn is dead again , one of my indicators has died since the other day :( and the pass switch on the lights which I never use has decided to go on strike (fixing that with duct tape over the switch) so I'll need to call and cancel that in the morning and hope I can get new parts and get them fitted then find somewhere to MOT it on Saturday as it runs out on Sunday.

Pass switch is just an advisory, mines never worked!

Horns are annoying, mine knackered right before my last MOT so I feel your pain!

That's good to know, I'll probably still tape it up just in case I get a picky tester!

The only time I use my horn is to check it before the MOT, my last one had died before last years

If I'd taken a breath and not gotten so peed off tonight I could have actually picked everything up and had it sorted for tomorrow rather than ordering online :( in my defence I'd have had to kit up and made it to Halfords in 15 minutes which would have been pushing it.

There's no way the BMW has a 17.5L fuel tank as quoted online, filled up this morning, completely empty, petrol light flashing and couldn't hear any sloshing about, filled it to the top with 9L..

I think my plan this time is to fit a horn for the MOT then take it off and hide it in the shed until next MOT time, you watch it still won't work come next year :D

Searching around it looks as though actual usable capacity is around 15-16L. But 9L? Are you sure? :P

I once bought a memory card that should have 16GB... it turned out it was a knock off and only had 4GB. Are you sure it's a genuine BMW?

;)

Horn might be full of water. Mine was. Asked the shop to look at it under warranty, they took it apart and it was full of water. Quick clean out and it works fine now.

It was dribbling rusty water when I tried the adjustment screw but for a fiver I just got another one.
