Yeah it'll go from 'normal' speeds to a ton 120, 30, 40 in no time at all. If I did own a modern litre sportsbike I'd have to take it on track regularly. But even at my local track (brands hatch) you'd never get into top gear!

you'll hit the ,limiter in 5th on most liter bikes now iirc. the zx10 hits 186 in 5th.

Well... :D Fingers crossed around this time next year I'll be in a much better financial position, I might be able to get something a year or so old of the 1000cc/1200cc v-twin variety.

If I do manage to put away enough it'll probably be between the 2017 Monster 1200s and the 2017 Superduke 1290. Head would say 1290 but heart would say Monster.

Monster 1200s All the way ;) Yes I'm a sucker for an italian twin!

i did not know there was a monster 1200???

my thinking is the same this year save, and next year im looking at the superduke 1290 GT.

i do a fair bit of motorway/long distance when im riding for fun so i think the gt with its bigger tank/screen/electronic suspension but exactly thr same engine and geometry will be the better shout than the 1290r

I've got a Dianese jacket that i'd like to buy some trousers for but i've got colossal calf muscles so can imagine fitting them into leathers would be a bit of a bother, not tried mind. Sporting Rev'It jeans at the mo with armour, much comfort.

i found jhon doe kevlars to be exceptional quality pants.

i had the carogos not jeans.

they remain fairly waterproof but only foir about 3 mothns after that maybe something like never wet

Iirc dianese leathers have calf adjustment or if you don't mind splashing the cash go to a proper D store and they'll customise whatever you need for them to fit.

ugh having awkward conversation with my dad whos just seen the 250 about if we should tell my mum.

she worries so much, its just for work (literal 10 minute 14 mile round drip).

dads respopmnjse was cool though "ohhh thats why you dont need a lift any more...so i was thinking this for building a work bench" :p

(he was over to help sort out a work bench in the garage.

10 minutes to do 14 mile on a 250? :p

Ah, this is helpful. When you say calf adjustment, is this just something that's part of the design of the trouser or you have to have it done somewhere?

You need to be shopping here: https://www.bmw-motorrad-bohling.com . It is the shop that BMW are constantly trying to shut down, selling original gear and parts at much cheaper prices. I've bought all my stuff from there - no complaints.

Cheers, I've been looking at the BMW Motorrad warranty, it's £34 a month. Have you got it on yours?

One thing i'm unsure on though is this part:

I can confirm that my vehicle has been fully serviced in accordance with the manufacturing recommendations/intervals and has not been modified in any way.

Does that include things like Levers, exhaust headers etc?

I've no idea tbh - I chose not to extend mine when it ran out a couple of months ago. I've got gap insurance on it, so if something big happens I'll have an 'off' near a lake or cliff edge...
