They've managed 151bhp at the wheel before tuning, said the current map was all over the place, they've had to customise a new map and start from the bottom basically.

Last month they managed 167bhp at the wheel with a full arrow system installed.

Sounds like you'll get a decent all out boost along with much improved rideability if it was that bad then.

Yeah you butchered the exhaust system so it's no surprise that the fuelling was horrendous. At stock they are one of the best fuelled bikes out there.

Edit: Their dyno is bang on as most S1000R's dyno between 150-154.

Yeah I noticed a big difference swapping to the new system.

The petrol light is flashing and it's saying 8 miles to empty, let's hope they have enough to finish the job :D

Actually surprised how much it uses on the dyno, it started off saying 45 miles left, I guess that over estimates too.

It's supposed to be pretty accurate on the BMWs, but it does base that on your recent driving style so if you change how you are using the engine it will lose accuracy.

That must be it because they don't take it easy on the dyno, hitting the rev limit.

I'm going to start using a more premium fuel, rather than the supermarket unleaded, see if it makes an improvement on fuel usage.

BP Ultimate gives me an extra 20 miles before my fuel light starts flashing compared to Tesco bog standard stuff.

I filled a couple of tanks in Europe with the E10 bioethanol stuff. Absolutely horrible. I'll normally get 190 - 200 miles out of the XR on a motorway with that much luggage, and it dropped to 150 with that fuel. Never again!

I remember putting a tank of standard in it after running on premium, it felt like a tractor!! Went straight back to v-power or BP ultimate the tank after, everything was better - low rpm round town, low rev pick up, mid range torque, etc. The rotax V-twin really does like the premium petrol. And if you use stuff with ethanol the tanks swell in size due to it :( my tank will be coming off over winter, dried out in a warm place to shrink back down.

Got a reminder through Bikesure for insurance last week, rang them and told them not to auto renew........Today get an email saying they failed to take payment (its payday tomorrow). What a bunch of *****!
