Look at this with road rubber on, looks awesome!

Seen better, I nearly traded my SV and paid the difference for an SM. But the guy sold it and bought a bandit...

You want something like this, well... SMC690R or Husky 701, they were made for the road. Other alternative to get a cheap reliable SM that won't cost a fortune to run would be a DRZ400.
Just had a look, you're not kidding

I'd be changing the oil weekly and checking the valves twice a month with my current commuting and that's being conservative.
Yep... pretty much the only thing that stopped me getting one. When I comeback, it'll either be a dedicated trackbike or some 400 Supermoto that'll get covered in mud occasionally.

If they made a 400cc grom I'd be throwing my money at them. They're nice little fun bikes and would look hilarious with my lump sat on top of it but there's no way I could go back to a 125

Started the bike up after work last night and it was not very happy. Idling just above 1k and struggling to stay running but absolutely fine once on the move.

Had myself prepared for the worst and a day of stripping various parts off and swearing today.

Thought I'd adjust the idle first just in case it really was that simple and as if by magic it's now happy as Larry again. Thank flip for that! It had probably been about twelve months since I last touched the idle screw I suppose.

That'd be a good choice. Why a 400 though? Just a space thing?

Yeah just something small I can use for work, reason I want an enduro type bike is I have miles of woodland which my house backs onto, I want to take it in there and have some fun. It'll also be easier for work as I can go down the grass bank infront of my house, rather than down the path. :)

This path is right behind my house, they are all like it in the woods, it has to be done! It's like a road, goes downhill then sweeps round a tight left turn, followed by loads of twisty paths. :)

Get yourself a DRZ400 with the proper off road wheels, it'll be fun going to work and you'll be able to take all the shortcuts you want :D

Awesome :D

Didn't you say that in the mountains you need more power due to the thicker air? Wouldn't a 400 be underpowered?

Clov!s lives in a boring place, not in the mountains.

The air gets thinner as you go up. You lose around 25% bhp up most mountains here, and I think that's on top of the 8/9 percent that you lose at ground level here in comparison to sea level.

Rode this today. R1200GS Adventure.

Love it. Way better than the Triumph Explorer 1200 IMO. Considering one for next year once I've paid the Speed Triple off :)

Brand new, 24 miles on the clock, all the extras. I reckon I'd only get the cruise control if I got one, don't need quickershifter etc., especially not for BMW pricing.

Oi it's not boring! It's no alps but not boring :p :D

The quickshifter is awesome! They also come with downshift/auto blipper!

Just had my new mic turn up from Amazon, sound quality is really good, just connected it to my gopro and recorded songs off my phone, sounds like you are listening through the phone itself because it's so clear, well impressed for £13.

That doesn't necessarily correlate to sound quality when in the helmet with wind noise.

Midlife crisis purchase? :p

Haha I'm not close to that age yet :D

These days I get most of my biking enjoyment from longer trips out / touring so am after something that's better for that - easily carry a tent and equipment, go more miles, etc. Plus it'll of course be better for the commute in winter. And will take me around the world on my trip ;)
