Well the tascam dr05 in the pocket of kriega works well, zero wind noise and it picks up all the lovely pops and crackles on the overrun :D

Only issue it that it's a little too 'bassy' or boomy - I'll stick up a vid to show you what I mean.

edit: in fact I think the bag might be muffling the noise a bit hence the 'boomy' sound, it's sounds muffled. Some experimenting still to do with mic/recorder location I think.

It is too easy to break the speed limit on a 600cc+ bike, i set off from some traffic lights earlier, still in first, sounded like i was hardly revving it, looked down and i was doing 36, i need to be careful as i could so easily lose my license soon. :p

Loads of bikes out today, multiple street triples, GSXR's, and god knows what else.

Honda said it would be 2 hours labour to fit new seals, plus parts. Their labour charge? £80 per hour including VAT... I feel a front paddock stand purchase coming on...

Anyone know where I can buy a single 8mm deep allen socket (probably 3/8 drive) - I could buy a set for £10 off amazon but I only need an 8mm...

Can you not get a quote from a local indie garage?

I used a local indie guy last time (who charged under £60 including seals and oil) but he's moved away, he was 5 minutes walk from my work. Not sure what the local independent guys are like in Maidstone - can be a bit of a lottery if you pick the wrong one...

Been a fair few accidents around here over the last week, seen 3 so far in the local paper of bikers coming off/hitting cars ect

So be careful out there

@Paul surely there's some local cheap garages that could do them for you? Have you googled your area for fork repairs? Shame you can't get just the forks to them, would be cheaper

You have to drain the fork leg overnight if possible and get the new oil levels the same,Honda main dealer will be extortionate

As for the socket buy it use it return it? Haha

TBH it's not that much work to do it myself, I rebuilt my front brake calipers and I can't see it being more difficult that that! And it's something that needs doing pretty regularly, maybe once every couple of years depending how often you change your bike so it'd be handy having the kit to do it myself.

Cost wise unless I find somewhere that can do it for £60-70 it's not much more expensive to buy the stuff, I already have the fork oil (and good instructions for oil level) with the hyperpro spring kit, just need the seals, allen bit, front paddock stand and a seal driver. £40 each for the stand and seal driver, £20 for seals and £10 max for the allen bit.

Fair enough, halfords might sell the 8mm Allen key socket, but its probably not much more to buy the whole set off amazon

Yeah, you only go halfords if you are desperate... It's expensive there. The Japanese bikes are easier to work on, I've taken the side rear panels and put them back on in 30-40 min. I wanted to see how the tail is mounted. :)

A lot of their stuff is overpriced, but if you need a good socket set the professional 120/150/170 socket sets (which are almost always on half price or less offers) and bloody brilliant - I've used mine sooooo much for doing stuff on the bike. I bought the 120 piece set but if I was buying again I'd get the 170 or 200 set as you get a full set of ratchet spanners which are really really handy to have, a set of ratchet spanners on their own are £40.
