Nowt wrong with bar end mirrors, the godlike ones were on ym Hypermotard 796, lovely fold out beauties

@Drangueos That was my intention but they don't have much high so my pink kept hitting them. I'm tempted to flip them to the bottom and see how they fit.
Also, apologies for the image size, it looked fine of mobile but huge on desktop

Great day of das training today. Struggled a little with the mod 1 slow speed at start but it soon clicked with guidance and managed quite a few laps without issue and I’m shifting/balancing myself to avoid leaning into the turn which was the main problem at first.

The “fast” speed stuff just sailed though which was great and reassuring too.

Felt like I was much more relaxed and confident on the road and the instructor was happy with us.

Out Monday for the mod1 with some more practice just before. Now to go head back to bike ads, really do like this triumph trident…

Took the cover off mine for the first time since September and fired it up, the way the weather is going I might get it taxed at the start of next month.

Just listening to it in the garden made me smile though, it's criminally under used but I don't think I can bring myself to sell it.

Just back from a week on some incredible trails in Portugal. It was a great way to get to know the new GS and what's possible with such a massive bike!

Finally made up my mind and bought a low mileage 2023 Ktm Duke 790 with a load of remaining warranty.

Was eyeing up Gsxr600s but in the end thought Abs , traction control and the other toys would be better for a returning rider.

Probably wont arrive until next week or so, but apparently it might snow this weekend so not the end of the world.

Mod 1 passed. Chuffed of course but had to dial down my reactions as the guy I trained with, who was much more natural at riding than I was did fail so was kicking himself.

I had 2 minors as forgot my life savers till I got to the u turn but did 57 for the emergency stop and 52 for avoidance. Avoidance did poop myself as was concentrating on the speedo and was slow to swerve but made it fine.

Now a “long” wait till the 27th for my mod 2. Might give my left hand time to recover from the clutch work which is really giving me a dead hand for some reason.

@Itchytrigg congrats bud, I know how difficult it is to keep in your excitement when the person your riding with fails (My riding partner failed MOD2 due to cutting lanes on a roundabout without life saving). It was such a joy riding back to the Riding School without that damn ear piece in being directed at every junction... must have been grinning all the way back :D

As for the dead hand thing... Is your wrist as straight as it can be when riding? If your wrists are bent when using the clutch it puts a lot of extra pressure on the muscles and joints which often leads to cramps and dead hands (or so I've found anyways).

@Noakesy85 hmm, you could be on to something there and I’ll see how I sit naturally on the bike when I’m back on it next Tuesday.

I currently have a natural tea pinkie finger when I straighten out my hand, it’s very odd!

I am looking forward to that ride back though I think my instructor will have us take the motorway back as we’ll be out to Banbury which is a shame but also good to get out the way. I can already hear him in my ear saying “why’d you do that you ****” if I do something stupid on the ride back! Love the banter with him and it’s made it a much better experience.
