When the motor tried to turn and it met resistance, it then tried to draw more current to force it to turn. In this case it drew so much current it blew the 10 Amp fuse.
If you have an older Blade or Bird it might be worth keeping some spares if space permits. I certainly do keep a box of spare fuses. You get a sort of it's going to be ok' state of mind going on I think, I know I do, or used to a lot. I keep some critical spares now though, so stators, rectifier unit, fuses as above, switchgear, relays, bulbs etc. Nothing mega, just those things you can't whip out to the local 24 hours station to fetch.

Yeah this is definitely something i'll be doing from now on. There's space in the fuse box for x2 spares which are inevitably missing. I've got a box of blade fuses but they're all standard and not the mini ones. :(

I also need to get hold of some 'Stubby' 12v 21w lamps as the ones in mine (for some reason) are 2 Pole 28w Lamps that have had a lump of Solder stock between the terminals to make it a single pole. and the fact that the wattage is off is making the right hand indicators flash waaaaay too fast. I love the ingenuity/stupidity of some of the previous owners of this bike

Some new bits ready to be fitted on Friday..

Tail tidy, seat cowl, rim tape & tank protection :D
Sadly it's going to be peeing down on Friday, so I'll have to dry it off, wheel it into the house and then fit that lot.

Failed the mod 2 today. One major for passing a line of parked cars I thought I was established for and oncoming car needed to stop but examiner felt I should have stopped earlier presumably as they spotted them earlier than I did.

7 minors too pretty much all nerves based and early in the ride. I’d convinced myself I’d failed waaaaaay earlier than the actual failure!

Annoying for sure but I’m actually ok with it as nothing “major” that I can’t fix next time.

Sorry to hear that buddy, you'll get it next time. Do you know how long the wait is until you can attempt it again?

@Noakesy85 cheers. You have to wait 10 days however I’ve also a holiday coming up so likely not till late march early April I think. Instructor will get in touch with dates for me soon, he said I can ride so we’ll just do a short ride and test only session and doesn’t think I need a whole day or anything.

That's not too bad and that's encouraging to hear from your instructor. Enjoy your holibobs, I'm off on mine too in a couple of weeks... looking forward to catching some sun :D

Yeah it is and I reread my minors and realised not one for observation which was what I felt like I was getting wrong during the test. Nerves do weird things to you! Was not surprised for 2 on signals though, really struggle to indicate left off a round about for some reason.

Enjoy your holiday too, not likely to be sunny for mine but who’s knows for early march in NY

2nd ride out on my Vfr yesterday, went for a ride around Mansfield and then to Matlock Bath , feeling more confident and the journey back felt good. Bit chilly with multiple layers but not terrible, looking foward to 15 degrees plus days out.

Got snapped by Thetwowheeledphotographer on the way in. I appear to dwarf the bike but doesn't feel too bad on it once you're moving , despite my aging joints.

Great Bikes, sold mine last year, just way to small unless your 5ft .6 and as thin as a super model. i also found it was like riding a space hopper at the tank

Hehe I'm neither of those, plus a good few stones since I last rode a 400. It may begin to annoy after a bit but for now its all new and fun.
