There're 2 916's in my local biker group, 1 1098 in pearl white which is now sold if I remember correctly... :(

I've a response from them...
Hi there

Sorry to say you cant really tell the height of the boot

As the boots are they wont go as you got year warranty on the product you are fully covered on that

any issues you get within 1 year will be carried under free of charge

so if you wanna keep using the boots you can until you get serious problem as with richa boots as they glue finished they don't get any trouble

so if you ok to keep we confirm you are fully covered under warranty
WTF is he saying? :o

A response like that makes me feel like they're fakes or something. Send them back and order from somewhere like SBS or another trusted seller on ebay (I assume that's where they came from?).

I think he's saying they're happy to sort it for you free of charge. I'd want a refund.

hehe,double talking jive:p

no 916's round here, must be because im in war torn birmingham:eek:

might see a few at bike meets though, but none day to day riding ive seen knocking about

I've toyed with getting a 748. They still fetch about £4k. I even bought one on ebay when drunk too. Ended up paying £20 for backing out the next morning lol.

There's a lot of maintenance with a bike like that. I've already got a bike that needs a lot of maintenance...

What bike is that?

Edit Just looked at the box they sent me the boots in, 'Montana Bakery' lols... They should have sent me some eclairs along with the boots! :p

Sending them back, with the 20% off I got them cheap, a bit more and I can get daytonas. So that'll be my next purchase... probably

I have a 76 Bonneville. I've got a weekends worth of maintenance before I can ride it again this year. Re-torquing head bolts, replacing an oil pipe and replacing all oils and a few other bits and bobs. Only been out on it once this year.

I'll be fitting the crash bungs tomorrow, the manual says to use manufactures torque setting which is 40lb-ft (55Nm), than the manual says to not exceed torque of 29lb-ft (40Nm). Which setting should I use than?

Rolled into the work car park this morning, jumped off the bike and heard something rattling.
Looked down an my left foot peg is just about hanging on the bike  that would explain some rough shifting! Although funnily enough it didn't feel any different when I was riding, I just thought I was having one of my riding like a learner mornings.

Luckily my bike came with the original toolkit and some random allen keys so I've tightened it back up but it shall be getting stripped off and covered in threadlock when I get home.

That's one of my 9 lives used up, there's a fair bit of counter steer going on on my commute and if it had come off totally I'd have probably been looking at the underneath of a lorry right now.

On a more positive note I tried my Kriega R11 waistpack(bumbag) out today and it's brilliant, more than enough space for me to chuck all my work crap in without needing to take my R35 which I always finds holds me back a little on spirited rides as it effects my body position. The R11 I don't even notice is there.

It's going to be perfect for what I bought it for which was just to throw my phone, wallet, keys and any other little bits in when I've got my full leathers on.
I don't understand why they ditched it for the R3 and R8.

Siiiiiiighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So it probably isn't a slow puncture...

Read it last night a bit after I got home: 43.5 - fine I thought, probably still a bit warm
Read later: 41
Read this morning: 43.5 (read again a few more times as it had magically gone up overnight), 39, 43, 41.5, 41 all one after the other

So gauge is broken

Good job you didn't have to stand up on the pegs to pull a wedgey or something...

The worrying this is I do quite often stand on the pegs to adjust my backside position not long after I set off in the morning :o

The previous owner seems to have copper slip'd everything though including the rear spindle  so I'm expecting these to be the same, anyone have any ideas on the best way to clear it out of the hole so the threadlock will stick properly?

I was thinking of using brake cleaner to clean off the bolts along with a good spray into the holes then wind the bolts in and out wipe them off again and another good long spray with the cleaner.

Brake cleaner will flush it out, watch out how much thread lock you use,my zx6 footpeg was really hard to get off when I had to replace the brake lever
