Bioshock: The Collection - HD Remastered

No, the original release predates Steam achievements by a couple of months, and it was never updated to add them in. I don't believe it's been stated whether the remaster will have them or not, but I assume it will.

i kind of feel these were very much games of there time, and a slight bump up in textures and res is nice but i fear they may feel dated by what we have had since! will fire it up and see for myself but its one of those things, looked great back then so i imagine the update will just look as i remember it in my mind if that makes sense!

To me, it's more than just the graphics, which have dated obviously.

The graphics, art direction, the sounds and mostly the story are simply brilliant.

Yeah it's definitely more about the setting and the atmosphere, which it does better than almost any other game. Absolutely love the whole Art Deco style as well.

I don't think game design has really moved on at all since 2007. It's not like going back and playing a 3D character platformer from the PS1 days or something. The whole first-person action/adventure/rpg/fps hybrid thing is still very much in vogue, and I don't think too many have done it better than the original Bioshock. The combat might be the only thing that feels a bit dated, but then it wasn't great even for its day really.
