Black Adam (DC Movie)

Forgot to mention you had actually highlighted a good point. I thought they were exactly the same power wise but notice this from the movie.

Black Adam - SHAZAM - Egyptian Gods
The Stamina of Shu:

The Swiftness of Horus: Superluminal speed

The Strength of Amon: Superhuman strength

The Wisdom of Zehuti

The Power of Aten:

The Courage of Mehen

Capt Marvel - SHAZAM - Greek Gods

Wisdom of Solomon

Strength of Hercules

Stamina of Atlas

Power of Zeus

Courage of Achilles

Speed of Mercury
BA has the powers of the Egyptian gods, Shazam (Billy Batson) has the powers of the Greek gods.

Both use anachronisms that spell SHAZAM.

Maybe 6/10, if im being generous.

At least it wasn't ridiculously long.
I would agree. Some of it was enjoyable, perhaps the first 2/3. Black Adam himself was good, Dr Fate and Hawkman I liked. The other 2 heroes were meh. CGI was great. End villain sort of just appeared and seemed rather pointless or unexplained. Perhaps by then I'd lost interest and missed what he was about. There was also a random skeleton army that served absolutely not purpose and did nothing. I actually got a bit tired of the constant fighting and smashing things up and wanted it to calm down a few times haha. I didn't mind it overall though.

If shows like She-Hulk and RoP can get critic scores close to 9/10 then it's perfectly understandable for a Rock superhero movie to get 9/10. Hell, Jungle Cruise got a 92% audience score!

He does do pretty good popcorn movies, usually enjoy what he churns out.. apart from Hobbs and Shaw, that was terrible.

Anyone who thinks this is a 9/10 movie is insane.

Maybe 6/10, if im being generous.

So someone is "insane" to give it a 9/10 if they enjoyed the film that much just because YOU don't think it's a 9/10 film? The level of narcissism on display there is was is "insane" :D

Like yourself I'd not heard of this character before the film and I think the biggest draw for people is that "The Rock" is playing him, and I don't think the movie would have been given so much leeway by the public if it had been a different actor in the role. For me I'd rate it around a 5/10, mostly for Dwayne Johnson and Pierce Brosnan, as I found the story quite weak and the supporting cast was under used, especially Sarah Shahi who I loved in "Person of Interest". The CGI was OK, the score was OK and overall it just felt "OK", not good, not bad, and I very much doubt I'll watch it ever again, even as a TV re-run. However it was an inoffensive way to spent some time trying to watch a film whilst in an adult crèche filled with ADHD teens who have zero ability to just sit still and watch something apparently :D

@VincentHanna - at the risk of continually repeating myself - "YOU" think it's not a 9/10 (and I agree) but just because you don't think it's a 9/10 that doesn't mean that people who think it is should be called "insane", just because you disagree with them, you're not in a political discussion thread any more where calling the opposition "insane" is the norm dude.

Pssst, it's just a figure of speech. I don't actually think they should be in a mental hospital.

Cool, then you won't mind being called "insane" in every single post where I disagree with you from now on because, as you said, its just a figure of speech and not an insult, thanks for the clarification ;)

I don't think it's crazy that someone might think it's a 9/10 film. But having a 9/10 average is top film of the year territory

Yeah it's nowhere near "film of the year" territory for me, not even anywhere close, but I don't think the Rock's fanbase cares about that :D

I really enjoyed it, plenty of action. Better than all the latest marvel stuff. I was really looking forward to the spiderman film due to the original 2 being in it, back when spiderman films were decent. . Much preferred Black Adam.
