Black Desert Online

Are you running on windowed fullscreen or normal fullscreen?? I run at 1080p with everything on max except the highend button checked and get around 100fps out of town and min 50 in with loads of people.

Edit: not sure if my v-sync is on or not so don't know if that makes a difference??

I doubt your vsync is on if you're getting 100fps...

I'm in Windowed fullscreen. I'll try fullscreen tonight and just windowed. Will also be playing on the sofa with the 360 controller, the buttons are mapped out VERY nicely.

I used to think like that until a friend, playing a female in DAoC, told me that if he's got to look at an arse whilst playing a game it may as well be female.

I've played females ever since :D

Well, the logic is certainly solid lol.

Sorry I didn't even mention, I am on windowed full screen too. That doesn't answer your question though :(

Also on 144hz screen so the vsync may be on.

You might have some trouble trying this eve though, the cbt closed this morning :)

I think a guild costs 100k silver to setup which i'll do once i have enough over release.

Then you can hand out guild missions to your members, if they complete them they earn silver for your guild so you can level up etc...

I think Sunday to Wednesday (general release) I am going to push to hit 50. Then come back and do all the quests, set up workers, nodes and then work on trade runs to make money. Inbetween all that will be farming to get a decent weapon and armour up in the enchated levels.

I'm in 2 minds how to play it, level up to 50 really fast like Dave is, or take my time!

I put in about 20 hours into CBT2, 15 of which i spent levelling to 30 the other 5 hours i spent showing my brother the ropes, he's come from playing WoW so there is a very steep learning curve!

I loved WoW until the end of Burning Crusade, then it just went to pot imo. So I'm loving all the research I'm having to do to learn all the systems. I'm in no rush to level up and valuing time spent on learning the systems because I will be rolling a ninja as soon as they are available.

I love, LOVE working the economy in MMO's, I was one of the richest players on my old WoW server simply from playing the marketplace! It's something I really enjoy. So I'll certainly be getting stuck into the trading/market place etc.

I need a bit of complexity in an MMO for it to hold my interest.

DAoC, whilst not overly complex, held my interest by not being 0-50 in a day and the RvR was great fun.

SWG had the resource collecting and crafting. My Doctor was in the top 10 wealthiest chars on the server.

EVE Online had tonnes of complexity that kept me playing for 5 years or so.

All other MMO's I've played have only been played for a a limited time due to not much to do other than leveling.

My hopes are high for BDO.

@ Agnes, two points you will need to know about BDO - firstly, you cannot trade to other players and secondly item's placed on the Market are all set prices. If you get filthy rich you cannot share your wealth to friends directly.

They implemented this so that gold spamming bot's would be restricted in what they could do.

I doubt this will get changed for EU but someone else might be able to shed some light on that.

I don't mind where the wealth goes to. If I can min/max a trade route and work out the most cost efficient way to make money, I'm quids in. It's what I enjoy. Same happened in WoW. I had so much G I simply never spent it. I got my enjoyment from making the money. Not owning it :)

I have stumbled across my first 'oh, not good' moment through my research. There is VERY little item loot in the game???

As in, you look the same from the start to the end. That does not appeal to me in the slightest.

There are variations in the armors etc, but it isn't massive no. They want you to buy the costumes heh. The dyes will add some variation too but some people are not happy with the dye system as it requires lots of rng and is hard getting several of the same colour for your armour.

I am playing the game 100% as I LOVED it in the cbt but I would be lying if I wasn't secretly praying for them to address one or two of these issues. If they listen to the community, I believe the game could go far.

OT: Why does the forum give me incorrect spelling for English spellings of armour etc :(

Looking forward to getting stuck into BDO, I've been craving a good new MMO for a while to give me something other than EVE to focus on.
Gone for the lower tier pre-order option as I'm not too worried about having an early start, hopefully I won't get as addicted to fishing and gathering as I have in previous games...

Anyone who is starting Sunday and wants to get to 50 asap then i'm uop for grouping up.

Will likely be on about 9am and will do the first few quests but will mainly be grinding mobs.

Only reason im doing this is then once done i can go back and enjoy all the quest line, take time setting up everything in game. The PvE is pretty easy and i haven't seen much of a story so i wont be missing much.

Also decided to go with Valkyrie, first time playing a female in MMO's, not a fan of gender locking but hey. Ingame name is reserved as Vallera Wolfborn.

I'm still on the fence about getting the top edition of the game and I want to pre order it for the bonuses arghhhhhhhh, what to do -.-

I'll be online from 8 (or as soon as i'm able to log on) to do this very thing, i can imagine it will be busy in the popular grinding spots!

Do you have discord? If so have you joined the OcUK one?

I'll be trying to get on at 8 but can see it taking an hour or so by the time i have setup my character.

Yeah i have discord and will get on the OCUK server on Sunday.

Yeah it will be busy but no where near as busy as trying do it on Monday-Wednesday when the rest of the people join. Hence why i want to be level 30 at least by end of play Sunday.

Ok i'll see you on there then!

For those of you that don't have Discord and want to join in, you can join the OcUK server here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18712831

I'm still on the fence about getting the game at all, there are some revolutionary features for an MMO but I just can't see me playing much after max level, PvE seems a little limited and PvP has never been a strong point for me in recent MMO's, always plagued by either lag, major unbalancing or skill caps I don't have the time to reach.
