Black Mesa Source

Indeed, it's only just been put on, once word of mouth starts it'll shoot up.

I wonder if 'cman2k' qualifies for the part where you have to have the rights to distribute the game?

Seems to me Greenlight is being misused rather a lot at the moment, and requesting free mods go on it seems to be another misuse IMO.

Carlos Montero is the project lead so I think he qualifies ;)

It is the way to submit content onto the Steam network. It is not a misuse.

Fair enough, seemed to be yet another submission by a random unconnected person at first glance, which have been plaguing Greenlight.

It's the way to submit things you'd like to sell on Steam :p Are any other free mods available as download through Steam? I don't really see why Valve would accept something like that, where they essentially take all the bandwidth hit but make no profit for it.

Sorry i've not long heard of this mod so this might sound dumb but why are they releasing an incomplete version if it's been in the works for so long? Shirley a little more time to complete it couldn't hurt? I'd like to play this but I want a finished version, does anyone know when that will come?

They've had to do it from scratch without using ANY assets from hl1. Sounds, levels, everything. Xen is in a 'reasonable time' after.

And don't call me Shirley.

There are probably more than you think.

Valve are very mod friendly.

Not all install through Steam but many do.
