Half life will always be the experience that blew me away & made me rethink my expectation of what a great game was, even a poor remake (Half-life Source) can't sully that for me & this look pretty good so Half-life is safe on it's pedestal for me at least.
 
To be honest when I looked at the screenshots I got a real tingle of nostalgia, I remember reading the PC Zone review of Half Life, I even remember what it looked like in print, I remember the opening sequences and how in awe and blown away I was. It was incredible. The best gaming experience I've ever had.

13 years ago, wow.

I'll play Black Mesa just because I'd be happy to relive that nostalgic trip, but with bells and whistles on.

Same as! I remember the reviews, I remember the "best game ever" hype and I remember it actually surpassing the hype. I didn't even really play games until I installed that game for my brother, made sure it was working, the train ride into black mesa, the first time a headcrab jumped on me in an airduct, I jumped in my chair.

Thirteen years of gaming later...

Wow now Steam is saying Black Mesa has been Greenlit :)
 
I don't want to play HL1 again though because I'm saying that for Black Mesa!

But will the updated engine of HL1 BMS cause me to look down upon Blue Shift and the others afterwards!
