Black Mesa Source

Anyone else think the zombies have a super attack range? I was standing in what I was sure was a safe distance by some margin and they keep hitting me.

Also, did Gordon always swing his crowbar so fast??

I noticed that with the zombies, they weren't getting me from that distance the other day in EP1, I'd swear; wasn't sure if it was because I keep changing the FOV. Incidently what FOV are people playing this at? I've got it at about 80'ish now, looks and feels about right.

Right I've downloaded the 7z from a few pages back. Now to start the long task of installing my new SSD and reinstalling windows before I can actually play it :p

Yeah, to think a bunch of people did this in their own time and gave it out for free is quite unbelievable. I mean the starting train ride would be enough to earn you a 1st class degree in media or something similar!

I played the original a few months back. The Black Mesa version is a lot better in my opinion. They have done a fantastic job, looks good runs well and feels better to play.

Hopefully Black mesa should inspire Gabe to bring out half life 3 finally.

If people are already impressed by black mesa (enthusiast community mod), then valve got a big challenge in bringing out half life 3 thats going to be mind blowing!!

I hope it isn't the case that after seeing and experiencing black mesa, Gabe tells his development team: ''Oh ****, we have to shelve our current development of half life 3 and start again as it wouldn't beat the awesomeness of black mesa in its current state''. Thus delaying the game even further

Lol :D:p

I decided to leave the download till this morning. Last night I was getting less than 15kb/s on the torrent. Now im getting 535kb/s, which is pretty good considering the slow broadband speeds in my area.

Should be playing the game fairly soon :)

I like it, I think it's a fantastic conversion but it's not the same. It to me just does not have the same feel Half-Life had 8 years ago. Maybe now I expect more but it just does not feel quite right to me. It's still a superb conversion and I'm enjoying playing it just not the same way I did 14 years ago.

People keep banging on about it being in the Steam Games list, I cant think why as according to Released games in Greenlight, no games are listed out of the 10 greenlit games so far and its not in my games list.

So do we have some trollylylylyly's posting?
