Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

I don't recall Black Panther proclaming itself as the first black superhero movie.

The first superhero movie written by, directed by and starring a (mostly) black cast was it's selling point.
It probably didn't but the amount of press association telling everyone BP isn't the first tells me, and my memory from my only 4 years ago lol, that everyone that cared thought the opposite, no matter the reality.

Anyway this sounds like I'm getting creepy and racist.

I hope this film is better than the first 2h 40m long... It's going to be a numb bum.

it was the shill media and a bunch of stupid blue check marks on twitter that were calling it the 1st black superhero movie, I remember it aswell mainly because a lot of anti-woke channels/commentators and the like had a field day with it.

But...I thought diversity was good and should be strived for?

I actually always found the principal of Wakanda to be quite sinister. A society that absolutely wants to keep everyone else out, they believe they're racially superior to everyone else and go to the extreme as to make themselves completely isolationist. Yet for some reason in a film this is lauded.

They accept absolutely no immigration!

It's a good little movie
I remember the rubbish folk ere was spouting when i made the thread on the first BP

It's still there.

Wasn't really posting in this forum when the original came out.

RT Critics score of 96% is obviously way too high, and in reality that has to be partly due to the "Blackness" that was played up prior to release by media, commentators etc. It's sad but true, I don't think anyone should really be denying this.
RT Audience score 79%. I can't grumble with that.

Reviews will go live at 5:00 p.m. UK time today.

Me and my wife have Odeon Limitless so we've booked tickets for Sunday evening.
Hopefully non spoilery reviews and no one posts any spoilers here!

Haven't booked anything, but I'm sure I will see it on Friday evening or Saturday at the latest. Slightly sad it will knock The Rock of his 3rd week on top of the world as Black Adam though! But I guess it will be toppled by another SuperHero flick with "Black" in the title :D

81 critic reviews and currently over 90% fresh.

Can see even from snippets of the good reviews that there might be pacing issues though. Didn't realise it was a nearly 3 hour movie.

Really!!??

That's a no from me.

Sitting at 88% on RT now with nearly the same amount of rotten scores as the original with around a quarter of the reviews in. Even the positive ones are saying it's not a patch on the 1st Black Panther, considering most fans of the MCU have the original BP near the bottom of phase 1-3 movies it would appear that BP2 is another phase 4 dud.
