Blackberry 9900/9930

What a total farce.

Handset is faulty, the touchpad doesn't work properly, RIM don't want to know "contact your network operator", O2 don't want to know as I'm not the original purchaser.

Stark contrast to HTC, I called them up, give the serial number, next day UPS takes it away, returned repaired a 3 working days later.

Isn't RIM orientated around the business market?

Some sucker off ebay, was in a sealed box from o2.

Sounds like you were the sucker here:p...id just send it back to the guy you bought it from, tell him its faulty and let him deal with it.

Just received my 9900 from blackberrystuff! They have me a free charging pod as well!

This phone is amazing! Just need to get used to it!

The official charging pod??...

Right looks like im gonna have to buy one today...will have to dip into my savings lol.

Sounds like he didn't want to faff about with a dead handset. Get him to fax/scan/mail the receipt - O2 do want to know as it was brought from them (this is the quickest fix). The second longest fix is you tell RIM the device is under warranty and you are obligated to repair it. If they get shirty say the following:

"I am now recording this call from this moment onwards as proof you will not honour your own warranty. Please reply to the following question - will you honour the warranty on a faulty BB Bold with a broken touchpad that was made less than year ago. The warranty that is defined as"Blackberry Handset Limited warranty" as displayed on your website."

This will probably make the operator force the issue higher up the chain as going on record saying you don't honour your warranty would be pretty amusing if it reached the media. If they ask for proof of purchase say you do not have it but as the device was launched <1 year by their own admission then the requirement for proof is superfluous and you are more than willing to hand over the device for fixing and can read back the serial.

But honestly - call the person you brought it from and inform him it's broken and you will be sending it back. If s/he kicks up a fuss kindly inform him that shipping goods not as described is not acceptable (you may need to record this call) and that as you will have proof it is defective (take a video showing it doesn't work, stick on youtube on private) and has no marks or otherwise indicating that this was done by yourself AND you informed him on the day the device arrived that this is a slam dunk PP dispute win for you either way should he decide not to agree to the return.

Money isn't for looking at Spawn. That's what I always say :p

LOL money is tight this month for me, huge bills with a bigger mortgage lol...oh well its a good thing i have some savings so looks like im gonna have to dip into that for time being till i get my stupid bonus cheque from my boss, who seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet :p

Play got it for £16

Yep ill order one soon as i get my 9900...

Just called up blackberrystuff to see if they are giving a free charging pod but the guy there said nope, it just comes with a standard charger, usb cable along with a few other bits and pieces....so methinks fizzle might be confusing the official charger with the pod because blackberrystuff dont even carry the charging pod as it is.

What does the warranty card say? what does the warranty cover?

Its a standard 2 yr warranty...from what i gathered from the guy at blackberrystuff is that should anything go wrong then they will courier swap it in 48 hrs which seems pretty decent as most retailers will have you send the device back to them then they either replace it or send it to RIM to fix. So the warranty does look good with blackberrystuff from what i have asked of them.

The warranty will not cover you for accidental damage or theft...its just a standard manufacturer warranty for 2 yrs should the device stop working etc.
