Blackberry 9900/9930

Got my 9900 and very pleased :D

Now, can anyone recommend a decent case or protection to keep it looking its best ;)

I just use the pouch it came with...great thing is with the pouch you put it in and it puts the phone to sleep whereas with other cases you dont get get that option and have to manually lock the phone.

The official BB soft and hard cases ive heard are pretty good ive heard.

Got mine from mobiles.co.uk and there is light bleeding by the USB port. Is there a way for me to get them to send me out a new one and send this one back?

Will they send out first? I can't be without my phone :(

I doubt it....get it replaced as mine doesnt bleed...thank god as my 9780 and 9700 had backlight bleeds :/

They told me that they will send a courier around to collect the phone and send a replacement out within 72 hours! What man!... Should have bought from a shop :(

Yes sadly thats the way it works buying online but buying instore would have worked out more expensive tbh.

Just make sure you get them to check the new one out thoroughly before sending you a replacement.

I just stick with the soft pouch it comes with, protects the screen nicely when in a pocket or something and isn't really bulky at all.

Just don't see the point in the hard case for me, just protects the back and sides which I'm not overly fussed about.

All good points about cases , I use the charging pod also at work so I guess thats the hard or soft shell case out of the question. :(

I may invest in the proper BB swivel case for work as I'm rarely at my desk and it saves me having to dump it in my pocket with keys , change etc as the top of the phone is showing in its pouch.

Whats a decent low profile case that doesnt add much bulk and doesnt stick when taking it out of jean pockets?

Casemate barely there case is your best bet tbh...also heard that some people have managed to get it working with the charging pod as well.

Anyone on Orange UK! Good news!
I upgraded my Orange account with Bold 9900 in Phones4u Westfeild Shopping Centre, Startford!

The deal:

1200 Mins

and I kept my currently loyalty discount which is 15% per month plus an extra fiver!

The 24 month doesnt bother me anyway because with the discounts my line rental works out to be £26ish a month

What has this got to do with the 9900?

Maybe I forgot to add, I upgraded with the Bold 9900.

Carphones Warehouse nor Phones4u were not doing Orange UK upgrades with the Bold 9900, until Friday.

Obs if you guys are looking to upgrade with Orange direct your better off waiting!

I've heard stories that Orange are trying to put some software on it and thats what causing the delay, UMA possibly?
General sentiment seems to be mid October for a release on Orange itself if not upgrading via CPW/P4U.

That is with Phones 4 U though, not Orange directly. So it's not really relevant.

Also, that's pretty expensive. £36 per month over 2 years? 250MB data? :(

Do you actually use that many minutes, because if not that's a bit steep.

BluBallz's update bodes well for a Monday release (3rd Oct) so fingers crossed.

It's taken so long to get this out that I'll only be a month before my contract ends so I can hopefully use that to get a decent deal out of them since I know I can go to one of many other providors and get a free handset with 600mins and 750MB data for £30pm, then get my 20% line rental discount for being with them 12 years.
