Potentially very depressing, depending on the price. Bet they won't be cheap tho
I was going to upgrade to a 5080 but I think I’ll wait and see what the 5080 super is like. How long after the launch do they release super/ti versions?
shh, don't give them ideasmakes we wonder if nvidia will completely change the nomenclature and do away with xx80 xx90 etc. to avoid pundits making comments like the one above (5080 = 5070)
amd often gets a free pass.. like no one was talking about how 7900 = 7800 last time around and so on
Nah Nvidia will just double down and try to normalise this while they have AI to keep the balance sheet looking good.makes we wonder if nvidia will completely change the nomenclature and do away with xx80 xx90 etc. to avoid pundits making comments like the one above (5080 = 5070)

im worried that more and more companies will use AI as an excuse to jack up prices with adverts like "contains the latest NPU to take full advantage of AI!" ... like having microsoft copiolt and AI recall is a major selling point :/Nah Nvidia will just double down and try to normalise this while they have AI to keep the balance sheet looking good.
And they mention the rumour that the 5080 is gonna be 10% faster than a 4090.Even digital foundary have a video on the 5080 and 5090..
That was my thinking too. No desire to go 4k yet with prices as they are.the leaks and speculations were already pushing me to actually get the 4080 super i ve had my eyes on for a few months but now seeing this... upgrading to a 4080super and a 7800x3d should hold me over if im only aiming for 1440p 60 for at least a few years.
At what res?For me it's all about 100fps. If I can't play a game at max settings at 100fps then the GPU needs an upgrade. once you go sustained 100fps there's no going back
Nah Nvidia will cut the price to a grand and everyone will think the newAnything less than a 30% uplift over the 4080, 20 or more GB VRAM and £800 price point is a failure IMO. But pretty sure nVidia will try and keep the price point (~£1200) with minimal performance and feature uplift they can get away with :s
