^ Blade & Soul ^ F2P MMo

Like I said previously, the game is good at the moment but the world doesn't have enough in it and I can see I'll be bored in a month or two. I still think Black Desert is going to be the one with longevity. I played the hell out of it, and only stopped playing the Russian version at Christmas. There's just so much to do in that world, BnS just feels empty in comparison. I love the combat, but I'm not really much of a pvp person in mmo's.

Archeage had an amazing world and endless stuff to do but it didnt last long at all. I want it to do well, but archeage deserved to do amazingly and just fell flat through terrible decisions by the publisher over here.

Downloaded, Created character, go out of the tutorial area and got into the first "MMO area" uninstalled.

Gold spam extreme in chat, UI is horrible and clutters the screen immensely with only the options to move the UI not shrink it to a sensible size. Combat is meh, Art is meh, voicing is meh. It just feels like an MMO from 4-5 years ago or more.

GW2 does all of the above considerably better and even that's an old MMO now, and has a better art style.

Waiting on black desert now.

Certainly seems to be marmite. I think the art style is excellent, i love the martial arts theme and the combat is excellent, in depth and nothing like traditional MMO's. Can't wait to start some PVPing. Oddly this one slipped under the radar for me, so i knew nothing about it pre head start, i should make an effort to do that more often !

Am also looking for to BDO, i'm an MMO junkie though. Currently also playing Albion Online which is a PVP grind fest (serious grind fest !!).

You can go into menu and change the size of the UI fonts like any other MMO

Gold spam is bad in all games. I've seen it by 2 people on this so far.

UI is bad but it can be moved and shrunken to a far more manageable level.

Voicing and art are average I agree and so is the story.

Combat is far far greater than GW2, it's not even close. The depth in this is considerably more too. I've also put in over 1k hours in GW2.

This game is about pvp, the rest of it is merely a distraction.

New update to autokick afkers :D

https://forums.bladeandsoul.com/topic/150530-hotfix-1202016/
A hotfix has been deployed to address the below issues:

An AFK auto-kick feature has been implemented
The queue time text has been changed
Previously, the non-premium membership queue time would only display wait time for non-premium members and would not include the wait time from the premium membership queue
Now, the non-premium membership queue time will display the total wait time including both premium and non-premium member
Fixed an issue where the confirmation message for upgrading a weapon could not be typed in French due to the word length

I dare say the community wont miss you. You tried to play an mmo game a day after launch and hit a queue so uninstalled. Mmos are not for you :)

You Sir, have the patience of a saint! The queues aren't that bad at all, 600 places takes around 7-8 mins. On launch day, I would say that's pretty good going :)

Strange, I played Diablo 3, World of Warcraft (expansion releases), Rift, Elder Scrolls Online and plenty of other games on release and never had a wait of over 1000 people at nearly midnight on a week day. The queue was going down at about 1 person per every 30 seconds. I could have driven to the cinema and watched the new Star Wars again and come home to find I was still stuck in a queue.

Maybe their servers are just terrible? Or everyone was AFK/botting I guess.

You just sold this game to me.

If all I knew about this game was that it "wasn't like GW2" I'd probably play it. In fact I think I might just download it now.

1997 - 2005 was the golden age of MMOs. Everything since then has been downhill. Just think of all of the awesome MMOs from that time period:

Ultima Online
EverQuest
Dark Age of Camelot
Asheron's Call
Final Fantasy XI

That is indeed strange, as i distinctly remember diablo having massive server trouble and people pretty much being unable to play it for days on end with a recurring error. Wow I have played since vanilla and at points has had ludicrous wait times to get onto busy servers but has been made a lot better now but they obviously have more money for infrastructure. For a newly released game over here i would say they have done very well to even have the servers remain online, a queue is better than everyones game being unplayable in the world.

Archeage had the same trouble at launch, ridiculous queues. It will settle down as it always does.

Haha both Diablo3 and WOW were awful for queues/problems on launch Mr :)
