Blaupunkt 50/149Z 50 Inch Full HD 1080p LED TV with Freeview HD

HUKD don't sell anything...

So no one should ever buy something that has been featured on HUKD because they "don't like" OcUK? Could you elaborate on what you actually mean by they don't like OcUK?

You could post OcUK selling a GTX980 for a quid and it would get down voted on HUKD, whilst a competitor would get hot rated selling them for £5k.

exaggerate much

It's a community site so its up to its members if the want to vote hot or cold, just checked over the past week and only four 'cold' (probably voted by people with a grudge or competitors or fan boys of competitors thereof).

On phone i got through to someone he said they would replace it they said no stock left but i was insistant about replacment so he suggested to click on request when stock is back in and to ring again and try asking for replacement then. Bit of a faf on like as i dont know why they couldnt add a note to my account saying when stock is back in give this customer one for replacement for damaged in transit.

Ah well, least he was happy enough to replace it and not question me about it much. Wonder what the email will say when i get a responce as sent that off earlier this morning.

Bought one at 9.30am last Friday. Tesco order status has only this afternoon gone to dispatched (supposedly last Friday evening) but the Citylink tracking number says 'awaiting information'.
Not looking promising especially as I previously bought the Isis 50" and they rang and cancelled the day before delivery was booked.
Edit; email just come in - expect delivery Saturday 29th November. LOL

Well it's finally arrived, it's undamaged and it works.
There appears to be an Ethernet port on the rear, any idea what it can do? Manual is less than informative.

Apparently something to do with Freebie Online channels. Not sure though.

Does it have smart TV features?

Nope. Plug in a current gen console or Chromecast and it's smart :)

Just saw that on the site they had stock in and no pesky "hurry low stock" messages. So i rang em up like i have every morning since sat/sun and they confirmed they finally have stock. So they set up a replacement for me and should be coming by about sat (next day delivery but delays etc).

So yey, looking forward to it again after been disappointed by the damage the first one had and the out of stock nonsense since sat. Tho i dont blame tesco it was just the whole black friday crap that did all this not them per say and i bet asda didn't fair any better or sainsburys as they had some tvs going cheap too.

Fingerscrossed for you Skeeter.
Thus far, I am thoroughly enjoying my new TV. Think it's all down to chance. People on HUKD aren't having much luck with CityLink delivering damaged TVs either.

Well to be honest, I think you should have asked for a replacement before you noticed the damage as you did say there was a scuff here and there. I certainly wouldn't be accepting brand new goods with marks and scuffs.

Regarding damage during transit, yeah that really annoys me. If anyone has ever worked at depots, you will see the appalling way they toss around parcels, knowing full well they're damaging the contents. A lot of monitoring via CCTV now goes on however with the aim of catching the wreckless idiots out, and it only takes one instance to be fired for gross misconduct these days.

Are these tvs any good? Im currently looking for a new HD tv but dont want to spend above £250 (main reason is because i will eventually be getting a projecter again so dont see the point in splurging out for an expensive tv)

the 40" model of this is only £199. Can anyone recommend it? Also do those discount codes still work? (in the link that was posted)

Sorry for hijacking thread.

I have the mentioned Blaupunkt Tesco 50" TV, paid £250 on black Friday.

To put it short, it's excellent, wish I had picked up 2. I would give the picture quality 5 star, 4 star for sound. On the picture I never even had to adjust anything, have it connected to HTPC watching new Star Wars trailer, can not fault picture at all.

I also picked up the Tesco 32" for £99. This is good also, however picture not as good at the 50" one.

I'm pretty sure this Tecnika TV is the same as the Blaupunkt 50" - it physically looks the same with same spec. Look at the reviews people are saying on this.

Out of curiosity, what is your point of reference to compare. As thats not what I heard on the AVForums podcast.

Yet there's no reviews of these sets across the established sites.

I also hear of people complaining of picture quality.

Also I've never owned a TV larger then 50" before.

However I'm a software developer, I use high end glass fronted monitors, of course the quality of the Blaupunk 50" is no where as good as these, I do have a reference for whats good for video / film.

I'm also an amateur motor-sport photographer, I like to think I have a good idea when the colours / brightness etc of a picture is balanced, and this Blaupunkt 50" is in my view.

I was lucky enough to have mine delivered undamaged, and aside from a tiny bit of clouding on initial power up (have since managed to completely eradicate this by lightly brushing the screen), I have been massively impressed.

Any HD feed is superb, there is no detectable bleed or clouding (now!) at all, and everything from watching the footy at the weekend, to gaming on my Xbox One has been am absolute pleasure.

I cannot comment on the sound as my TV is hooked up to an AV receiver via optical cable (another plus!), but for the price I paid, I couldn't be more happy.

Including motion.

That's why I was looking for reviews, let alone intensive reviews that I can't find. Was curious to see how well it done within the Rec.709 colour space. As AVForums does not speak of these TV's in good favour. So there must be a reason… I'm not talking about joe nobody.

Back in stock and with £20 off voucher. Tho i do warn you, buy one and prey it comes undamaged as i have had 2 damaged ones where led shines out of the top of the bezel and had to complain to the ceo to get a third one and preying this one is ok this time.

If it comes undamaged the pic is usually good and all the connections u could want and plays anything out of the usb including aac audio and mvk files with embeded cubs and more than 1 audio tracks. (good for anime lovers) Well the 50/149z could i dunno about the 148/z but reports come in that there identical so i dunno.
