BMW and M Power Owners

Just ordered 2 crankcase breather valves for my 645ci and a new o rings for the vacuum pump as my car isn't producing any misfire codes after a full new set of spark plugs but the vacuum pump is loud and my idle revs still move around. It's drivable but I don't want to risk damage. I'm hoping these fix the issue or I'll be in for a rather large repair bill it seems!

In January the car had a new rocket gasket done, both ccvs and a new vacuum pump, plus new suspension. It through 3 misfire codes at me so I replaced the plugs as they looked crappy whilst the coils looked fine. The vacuum pump sounds like a bag of spanners when the car is on idle but I can't find a leak. There's absolutely no oil anywhere either.

Properly got me stumped!

Good Z4M car review, I'm not dropping thousands on handling mods to improve mine though, if I had to keep it I would, but I may have a good opertunity to go for a 911 soon.

Picked up my 340i a couple of weeks ago; not sure why I haven't put pictures in here yet :p

Favourite picture of the car, just wish I moved the Honda CR-V beforehand :(

Absolutely wonderful so far, so gloriously smooth when cruising, and then an absolute animal when needed :)

can anyone recommend me an insurance company? been looking online and says I need two years driving experience for the BMW Z4 but I'm 25 and have 1 years.

QouteMeHappy are the cheapest atm at 1.1k but when I looked before I brought it it was coming up at 650 :/ which was before all the goverment changes.

Direct Line were cheapest for me.

well that's the remap done today. 560 ponys to 720 although they said 740 is more realistic given the miles my car has done.

JEEEZ its unreal, traction isnt as much as a problem as i thought, its made the car funner for sure but its a missile

just do comparison sites and then ring the companies that are not on them.

the 2 year rule is rubbish.

Also if you get your insurance to say, start tomorrow it'll be more expensive than say to start in 3 days.

I insured my z4 3.0 at 25 with a little over 1 years driving.

My insurance initially said I'd need 3 years no claims before they'd insure me on my Z4, but when speaking to them they made a concession due to me having a licence for 9 years and no claims in that time (no claims bonus was low due to not owning a car for 3 years when at university)

I go up at half 6 most mornings, I really wish I could go faster than the 50 most people seem to want to sit at. It's also yet another classic example of I'm going right so everyone sits in the right lane even though the left lane is clear and it's clearly signposted that both lanes go right. Then people seem confused when they try and cut across but there's cars there!

I've decided against going via Birdlip, but I seem to recall you are near Brockworth so it makes sense for you. I cut through Stonehouse->Stroud->Cirencester and get on the A419 down there until I get to our main office (Shrivenham) The only time I go via Birdlip is when I'm going to our offices in Oxford and I use it to cut across to the A40.

The route desperately needs that 'missing loop' piece people keep talking about. Congestion around Birdlip and Nettleton Bottom is just mad.

The best MPG I've ever managed door to do was high 50's, and that was cruise at 60. The route simply isn't flat enough to achieve much higher than that.

Must depend on insurance company then I guess. Weird to say the least, due to my rubbish postcode I get bad quotes in general but moving a bit further away which I'm planning to do later this year results in quotes around £900/year mark.

It's not too bad when I go up to be honest apart from maybe Mondays. I did look at the alternate route but on google maps it looks to be around ten minutes longer.

The funny thing is it only ended up being a £70 charge to change for 11 months from my DS3 beforehand, I'd surely have assumed a 150bhp hatchback and a 230bhp roadster being in totally different risk categories, but the mysteries of insurance continue!

Yeah, it takes 55-60 mins going my new route, opposed to 45mins-1hour 30 due to how variable the traffic can be going via Birdlip

insurance is weird, I can never understand their logic tbf. Especially when a type r ep3 costs me 4-5k to insure.

Too high MPG for a M-power thread.

Beat my record high last tank , 22.5MPG

I only got 1.1mpg more from mine
