BMW and M Power Owners

What is a quick way to visually tell the difference between an F11 and the LCI model?

Different front lights, thinner bars in the rear lights, fog lights centred in the grille on M Sport models rather than at the edges in the pre LCI, indicators in the mirrors, small strip of chrome either side of the navigation screen.

New 6 Series Grand Coupe on BMW's website now too. Looks awesome. Too bad they don't do a hybrid version for company car buyers. Had my 2014 plate 640d valued at 24k, so not to bad.

Also updated my 530e spec to have sunroof and changed from aluminium to black piano effect
mybmw.co.uk/q1j9a0f7 not sure whether to go with variable dampers or not. Got 2 weeks after order to decide.

What luck! My Audi was towed away with a broken DPF pressure sensor 24 hrs ago. Borrow dad's 5GT for holiday, only for the front coil spring to snap on the autobahn. Currently waiting for ADAC..
Why are BMW coil springs made of cheese?

I've driven a car on a broken spring at speed for a couple hundred miles before (Seat Leon), but I presume driving this 5GT with fancy dampers 200 miles home would be unwise? What sort of damage could I do? The spring has snapped at the top, the rubber housing has dropped and there's some spring missing :p

They've decided to call the 5GT the 6GT now, same principle as when the 3 Series Coupe became the 4 Series.
Indeed. Not sure why as it clearly looks like a 5..

Anyway, no damage at all to car. Not sure why the recovery driver agreed it was broken. The spring is just turned slightly and it looked odd to me last night. Surprised he didn't bother to check it properly before towing me.. still curious as to what the loud bang was. Must've hit something but there is zero damage anywhere.

Oh well, got a free hotel for the night and breakfast :p

Pro tip, dont give it beans when low on fuel(an indicated 10 miles left) as you may get a drive train error popup and then waste 2 hours worrying you have broken your car/trying to sort it with various dealers/bmw assist until one knowledgeable techie informs you of your idiocy. :p

I don't have chrome strips either side of my nav screen or indicators in my mirrors (the latter I understand obvs) :D

My 530e looks like November now rather than October because I had piano black inlay. Good news is that when getting my 640d valued they said while it won't go up as it's the last 6 series coupe with all the gubbins, it might actually hold value now that the chunk of depreciation has happened and offered me some good money to take it now. Unfortunately, got to wait til close to the 5..

Now we've finally had some hot weather it's become apparent that the AC in my 63 plate f10 is knackered!
In mild weather it seems to have enough power to send a nice breeze through the vents but it's struggling in anything like warm weather.

Car has done 75k miles so it's had some time on the road and I always have the AC on auto at 20c. I've never had AC 'recharged' before, how long does it usually last on cars nowadays?

no idea but my 2007 z4 with 62k miles is still cool, no ac recharge in history..

That is shocking that a 4 year old car, even more so from a premium brand has had it AC go. My 22 year old Celica will put icicles on your eye lids.

Well I got asking price for my F10 and watched it being driven away last night. I was sad to see it go but I've not driven a car for a week (which was a 3 mile round trip to go shopping!) which reiterated that it was a complete waste sat there. I took it out last night for one last drive which was nice.

I guess the Integra will finally move as I don't think it's been started for around 3 weeks or so.

Sold my M3 CS on Sunday. Put it up for a fair price and got a dealer offering me very close to my asking price. Makes me wonder if I should have put it up for more but it was the first (and last I expect) car I will ever make money on including what I put into it. Almost shed a tear when it was driven off.

Question for those in the know, does the pre-2012 F1x 525d have the same engine as the 530d i.e. N57 only in a de-tuned state 204bhp vs 245/258bhp?
