BMW and M Power Owners

Didn't even realise that, those halogen indicators are vile. I'm sure I read that LED lights are actually cheaper to put in cars now than halogens for manufacturers but they don't to force consumers to upgrade.

I doubt anyone specs the upgraded lights purely to get LED indicators - its such an annoying policy and it just ends up making the majority of the model look a bit crap from the front.

Every day I rage when I unlock my 2015 5 Series and watch the stupid halogen indicator flash. My 2010 5 Series had LED indicators in the headlights... :(

:(

I'm starting to regret the Tesla for small bits and bobs over the 530 for various fits and finishing now. The adaptive icon lights were absolutely amazing on the g30 I test drove.

Welcome to 2017 car prices. The 520d M-Sport touring base cost is £42k and the 530d is £50k !! Obvs there are discounts on that RRP but the start ceiling is high.

It's completely stupid because you can then get enormous comedy size discounts off the list price.

Nobody needs to pay anything like £42k for a 520d M Sport Touring... yet they'll all pay the higher rate RFL despite paying closer to £35k for the car :(

I get what you're saying but the Audi Q2 starts from £20k, and the Volvo XC40 from £26k. BMW seem to have taken it to the extreme with the X2.

Not quite comparable as on a business lease but when I had ordered a 530e, I managed to get 37% of their leasing price which is all governed by alphabet, BMW's leasing arm anyway.

The carwow discount on a 520d MSport Touring is £5k, plus another £2k deposit contribution IF you take the dealer finance.

It's a Volvo. It's only in the same segment in the way a Ford Focus and an Audi A3 are.

For a guy who comments on other people's hyperbole, this is a bit rich :) A Volvo is in no way as big a step down from a BMW as a Focus is to an A3.

Anyways, this really isn't worth dragging out. The RRP of the X2 is ******* expensive compared to its rivals. That's a fact.

It's not though - like for like. The closest rival is a Q3 and a similarly powerful Q3 to the entry X2 - around 190bhp petrol or diesel - is only a grand cheaper.

With pro nav is there a way to control individual volumes of differing sources? Noticed today the the radio is a lot louder than the multimedia input, my old accord used to remember the volumes of the radio and CD but switching between inputs on the bmw results in having to quickly reach for the volume button.

I'm thinking of upgrading my X3 to either a 2015 X5 30d M Sport or Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE, thoughts? Anyone have experience of both who can give a view?
My sister had a 15 plate disco from new, numerous faults and breakdowns later it was eventually rejected and replaced under goodwill by JLR for a brand new 16 plate which broke down on the day of delivery!

That was rejected for a new X5 M50d which has been faultless and a world away in terms of reliability and improved build quality, the disco was inferior in every respect.

One is a premium SUV, the other has a premium price but little else.

Wow, that's a bit of a LR horror story!
Yes indeed, completely ruined their perception of the brand so much so her husband decided to bin his idea of a Range Rover (instead of the X5) and bought an M4 instead and has kept the X5 for towing, they also have a new 1 series.

Personally I was surprised they bought one in the first place, they had an early Discovery years back again from new that was equally dire in both build and reliability in recent years though the brands image had improved, alas - for them at least, the reality was no different from their first experience.

On the other hand though in fairness to JLR, some friends of mine have a previous shape Discovery (64 plate) from new which has been faultless.

Can anyone help me with E92/E93 options? I’m looking at post Sep-08 models onwards for the updated iDrive with the Pro Nav, with USB control (which I assume means my iPod will connect and be accessible through the audio system?) plus I’d like to have Bluetooth specced as well.

And then... well, what’s worth looking out for? And is it possible to get the VIN from the Reg No and stick that in here to see what a car was built with?

You need a late 2010 for CIC with a combox which allows stuff like bmw apps and full iPod integration. (6NR )

However plugging into a CIC none combox gives you some of the iPod features.
