BMW and M Power Owners

I was all set on a BiTDi A6 to replace my current Avant but having recently been in a friends 530d (F10, lots of spec) I'm seriously considering a 5.

Is the 530d G30 worth the extra 10k (approx) it would cost over an equivalent spec'd 530d/535d F10?

Interior in the G30 looks nicely updated and I prefer the exterior styling but not sure if I can justify the additional spend given that I'm a tight git. Would be looking for a touring.

I freakin' love my G30 530e, but it's my first BMW so this post is pretty useless for you really :D
 
Got some corner splitters but they all seem to vary on how big the spike is. These are replica of the OEM BMW parts that direct more air to the coolers in the bumper.

The ones I got seem the biggest and a bit ott so can’t make mind up. Intention was to make the front lower and meaner.

Not sure that's completely true... Sure in London/Manchester etc where thieves are a bit more desparate but more rural areas where they're likely more opportunistic and less likely to be prepared to kill for a car...?

They're not opportunistic if they're going equipped with specific equipment to circumvent security measures, they know exactly what cars they're going after.
 
I’ve just made the switch from RFT to Goodyear Eagle F1 AS3 (non run flat) on my E93. It seems like a nice improvement in road smoothness and spinal feedback(!), definitely better grip in the wet. I’m thinking to do the same for my wife’s F25 X3, now that its tyres are due a change, in order to improve the ride quality but can’t find much in the right size/rating - how flexible are these numbers, presumably it’s OK to go bigger load value but what about size?

Front: 245/45 R19 98Y
Rear: 275/40 R19 101Y

Still considering keeping run flats for ease in case of a puncture, but given the relative rarity of punctures (I’ve just had my first after nearly 20 years of driving...) probably not a valid reason to stay RFT. Thoughts?

Anyone else with an X3/4/5/6 model made the switch and glad they did?

Edit: using the tyre size converter on Openeo it looks like I could keep rears the same size (but uprate load to 105Y) and go 235/45 (-1.3%) or 255/45 (+1.3%) on the fronts and then I have a bigger choice including PSS and PS4 (not S). Which would you choose? Is it fine to increase size on the front but not the rear, will the effect on the speedo be noticeable?

PS4 seems to be available in the standard size but out of stock everywhere for the rear.

Car was found in peterborough yesterday thanks to BMW telematics tracking though I was only notified this morning. Unfortunately doesn't sound like it's in a healthy state. Front damage from where they drove through the driveway wall, also damage to the rear but not sure the extent. Worst part is they apparently have torn up the interior looking for a tracker...sigh. This is even more hassle now! Gutted.

That's horrible :(
 
So spoke to insurers, they spoke to recovery place and the recovery spot reckon it will be total loss. They said the car was picked up mid way through being stripped!!! :eek:
All hearsay but sounds like the guys may have been caught which is at least one saving grace. Still waiting for Cambridgeshire police to call to confirm what the hell happened. The car is on police hold at the pound, presumably for investigation purposes.

All of that stuff detracts from rather than enhances the look of the car :(
 
Hi Guys
I have 2005 e90 325i and i hade it for over 5 years what im looking to do is get it lowered. What suspension would you recommend ? springs or coil overs ? also I could do with a bit louder back box dont realy know any websites with BMW parts if any one could recommend some it would be nice.
