BMW and M Power Owners

I’ve got my E93 booked in for new brakes and discs next week so going to get the dealer to take a look at this but does anyone know what could cause the steering wheel to squeak/creak only when turning left at lower speeds? It’s particularly noticeable when navigating a multi-story car park

So I've just gone through my first full tank of diesel in my 520d; approx 690 miles from 66 litres.

(98% commuting to work).
The car saves a lot data - I was most surprised by the following information :

- I coasted for 90 miles (14% of the distance)
- The stop/start system was active for 1hr 22mins

Not particularly useful figures without some context though. For a totally urban commute that's very good, for a longer distance commute it seems somewhat poor - what's the usage profile?

Typically it takes me about an hour to travel 25 miles. Sometimes it’s 50mins, other days it’s 1hr 20mins (like this evening). Mixture of urban and country roads.

Actually looking at swapping the 5 series and was in a 4 GC this morning. I have to say I was pretty impressed. Much more practical than I expected.

It feels like cheap rubbish compared with 5 though, it was a major mistake sticking with that 1 series style interior :(

New 3 series soon, hopefully that will fix it.

Anything is better than swapping the F11 for a 1 Series where the leather feels like plastic. I actually prefer the cloth interior in them!

Still working on my wife as I've just put new front tyres on the 5 so hoping to keep it for another 6 months to feel like I've had some value my £380.

It's the same in the 4 though?
They were both approved used but the 1 Series was a 67 plate and the 4 GC was a 16 I believe so possibly the 4 Series leather has softened with age? Neither are as nice as the leather in my 5.

On a side note BMW have just advised me that the Sports Contact 3 rear tyres I put on 14 months ago (which have done 10k miles) are almost due for replacing. That is exceptionally poor for almost £400 of rubber in my books but maybe I'm being unrealistic?

edit. 3.0mm in the middle compared to 7.0mm when new.

I got about 11k miles out of the CSC5s when I had them on my A3, they wear extremely quickly. 3 of the 4 CSC5s on my F11 blew up on me so they've all been replaced with Pilot Sport 4s.

Michelin are great for tyre wear, folk get 20-30k from a set from what I’ve read. The MPSS are shocking when it’s cold/wet so I’ll be trying the MPS4 next. Only a few mm left on mine but I’m going to wear them out as far as possible so I have the best chance of not needing to replace them again before I change cars.

My MPSS have done 22,000 miles so far (rotate with winters) and whilst I haven't measured the tread depth, there is loads left. I reckon the extra initial outlay works out cheaper in the end v CSCs..
However, these are on a FWD Audi..

Viewed the x2 today. I like it. Feels small enough for one to doss about in but a big practical boot. Inside is "standard" bmw. Shame when I spec it on line it's 40k and that's not even the 25d engine.

Ah Well, maybe few years down the line.

I'll second this. I really do rate Michelin tyres. Currently on Dunlops and actually...not bad either. Although given it's a barge I can't exactly chuck it around.
