Im trying to shift my old mans car for him, I know I need better photos but at the moment its not possible for me to go and take some but is £14k a bit optimistic for a 535d GT 2010 with 75k on the clock?

Right, after 4 months of buy/not buy debating....
Just purchased an M4 Convertible, Sakhir Orange, Silverstone leather, black wheels, black pack, heads up, reverse camra... 64 reg/10k on the clock, service pack till 9/19, BMW warranty till 6/2020.. £37,662 with a huge overvaluation on my 435 trade in... So excited!!!
Pick up Monday
All models of the 1 series tend to have rock hard suspension (even the SE and sport) so may be worth looking at the 3 series size of car if you are doing so many motorway miles. I had the misfortune of doing a trip to London in the back of a sport 116d and it was the worst riding car I've ever been in. Firm but damping not even well controlled. I would definitely consider stepping up size of car to a 320d or just get another golf/audi A3 as they ride much much betterLooking to replace my three year old Golf GTD with a new car and have been looking at 120d's. Is there anything in particular I should be aware of or certain models that are highly recommended? It doesn't seem entirely clear the difference between each model (e.g. sport shadow). I'm not that bothered by the "sporty" aspects like rock solid suspension but I could be tempted by the xDrive if it is worth it. Will be going for gadgets as I spend a lot of time on the motorway (~16,000 per year).

Sometimes you might just fancy a change... I wouldn't buy the same car twice in a row eitherWhy would you replace a 3 year old GTD with a 120d?

My point is that the 1 series has been around since 2011 and is due replacement at the end of the year, so a move into one from a current model Golf that's only 3 years old doesn't seem to offer much. Surely best to either keep the Golf or move on to something that's nicer for 16k a year?
If you want to save money buy your car, provided you've looked after it well! Just pay the balloon payment and keep it.PCP deal runs out in few months. I'm not in a rush so can wait. Fancy a bit of a change but if the deal isn't right I'm happy to take out a loan and stick with it for now.
I was mainly looking at the 1 Series because I don't need a bigger car so thought I might be saving some money. The new Golf's have gone up in price and VW have dropped their residuals, so the same car now costs an extra £50 per month - crazy!
Will take a look at the price of a 3 series and go for a test drive. Not sure if you've ever driven a current model Fiesta ST but do you know how the suspension compares? I loved my ST so if 1 series is harder than that then might have to give it a miss.
It looks nice but I think it's probably up for too much (considering the diesel backlash, lack of finance available and the fact it's now 8 years old).
Remember - just because there are 5 other worse cars up for more than yours doesn't mean that's a selling price. Plenty of cars spend months on AT because owners base prices off other cars that have spent months on AT.
