BMW and M Power Owners

Been a few changes over the last 18months or so. Upgraded Touch Pro is the new standard system 10” screen - and Touch Pro Duo is the new “upgrade” first see that in XE facelift (same as I-PACE)and new Evoque (Velar stuff in SE and HSE.
Far more flexible with CarPlay when you have two screens just shame can’t get the nav etc on the cluster or HUD but the inbuilt is getting better.

All now working with Software Over the Air updates to manage updates as it gets refined.

Thankfully the 8” base system with the hardkeys either side is now gone, XF and F Pace is the 10” screen and CarPlay as standard. Still likely to be behind the Germans but the gap isn’t so wide I think.

Touché. They can catch up with driving dynamics now?

Sounds like Priority 1 in a diesel barge, definitely more important than the interior not feeling like an upmarket Kia :D

My prejudice stems from how bitterly disappointed I was with the XF Portfolio I put 2.5k on in 2017. It was worse than the last gen 5 series let alone the current one.

18 plate 430i with folding mirrors. Is it possible to auto fold mirrors with just lock button press/locking the car via keyless or do you have to hold the lock button for 5 seconds?

Yes you can do this and you can just get a quote online. However it's quite a bit more expensive to buy a new policy on a car without cover.

Huh i did'nt know that, i'm not sure why it should cost any different anyway, i'm sure i read something to say you couldn't claim in the first month anyway.

I have to keep the button pressed for something like 3 seconds before they start to fold, once they start you can then let go of the button.
Yep this is what I mean. It's a friend's car so he was just wondering as every other manufacturers cars seem to do it which is odd. Not sure he will fancy coding yet as he has just bought it

Ordered wiper blades. £45 for genuine as none of the Bosch ones have the offset fitting on passenger side apparently.

I did get a set of Bosch off eBay but seems the pre facelift have a different fitting :(

Service in a week, 51k Miles so 14k and 2yrs since last in May 2017.

My oil and filters were changed around March 2017 and I know it's in line with the service schedule but I ust won't be able to wait till it's at that sort of Mileage as I'm planning on doing it this year and I've only done around 5,000 miles.
May be overkill but at least I'll feel better.

Seems like a total waste of money to me.

Might be unnecessary for some, but it does give me piece of mind knowing it's got fresh oil in.
Especially as it's quite a simple job to do and how important it is for an engine .
If it prolongs its life also then it's been worth it especially as I plan on keeping it for as long as possible.
