How bad value are service plans now? Just asked about one for my 18-plate 4 series. They want £1175 for coverage to Nov 2023. Take into account that I do 7-8k miles/yr. It doesn't look like I'll get value from that when bmw indi specialist seems 30% less - e.g. oil service £165 vs £234 (BMW Cooper main dealer).
Also, 3/4 series seems 'screwed' savings-wise compared to 1/2 and 5 series according to link!
For reference my local would be grosvenor bmw Reading - seem to have decent rep.

Wouldnt bother. You'll have two services in that time.
I've just bought a 3 year old (9th this month) 520d. 12k miles and had its first service bang on 2 years of age at 9k miles.
Some filter and oil was all that was changed.
What's the deal.. Can you now go to other garages and keep your warranty?

My issues with this is that the m sport packages get you some nice kit, but also get m badges plastered all over it. I get ribbed for having m badges all over my 2 litre diesel but the m sport X package had all the goodies I wanted at a decent price.

Mine had some after market on the back and front grill. Straight off.

alternatively, diy debadge - it's no more than double-sided tape holding the m badges in place lol

Ours was a stock car but handy to know for future reference. I'm not bothered enough to pull them off, I forget they are there until someone is nice enough to point it out.
Yeah. Still it's only 12 months warranty and won't need a service until the end of that time.

Just fitted my dashcam in.
Fuse 54 (cig lighter on f10) was hard to get to! Had to feel it out and in.
Had to trim the piggy back of the hardwire kit from Nextbase as the cable had hard plastic on the side mount surrounding it stopping in going into the slot properly. The fuse is on the edge of the box which has a plastic raised edge.
Thankfully easy to trim back with a knife and I reheated the shrink wrap around it to push it in snug.
Looks like the camera keeps running for 4mins once the car is locked. Hopefully that not too much to drain the battery.

I think Fox dislikes both but I’ve decided to get one and will be fitting it tomorrow. Never been a fan but last week on the M1 got caught up in a high speed scrap between a van and somebody in a tiny red car. Van drove on the hard shoulder and then from there swung across the front of me in the middle lane nearly taking me out. Didn’t even know what was going on, so van now in front and little red car next me going at each other.
Why does that mean you needed some sort of video surveillance system in your car?
