Fair enough, decent! In a lot of European countries, 50g/km CO2 is the cut-off for low/no tax. Again, this is achieved by fitting a bigger battery. Audi really ****** up with that.47 is my best so far but only had it a week.
the x5 has a 24kw battery so has a decent range. Only the GLE and X5 have decent size batteries as PHEV. Makes a massive difference as I am more likely to use more battery than PHEVs with smaller batteries plus it means both cars fall into the 7% BIK bracket as they do more than 45 miles on pure EV.
I wish more PHEV manufactures went with bigger batteries and went past the 45 mile range. I think if it goes 60 miles on pure EV then the BIK drops further to 4%.
Totally agree. I went with the Q7 because of the sliding, three individual rear seats. Makes a huge difference. Also I reckon the interior is nicerHonestly the new 45e range of BMWs seem like the best of both worlds. 6 cylinder engines mated to a decently sized battery for proper hybrid driving support in a bigger car![]()

Honestly touchscreen interaction is a PITA, especially when driving, but you get used to it. The Virtual Cockpit beats BMW’s digital dash hands down though, which makes up for it. It’s swings and roundabouts; you can’t go wrong with either at this end of the spectrum.I can see the sliding rear seats being handy but I don’t personally share the same view on the interior.
With the new direction of touch everything, there’s less to differentiate between entry level cars and premium cars
How have you found the touch screen interaction vs buttons?![]()
BMWs is much better. It’s like Siri; how can almost have a conversation with it. Audi’s is much more old fashioned.Surely with all the voice stuff you don't need to touch anything?
they're mid stream of updating to the european 60km phev tax threshold - I expect others like bmw ? to follow through otherwise 330e/g20 is dead - this is why the merc C has the bigger battery,Fair enough, decent! Do you have a proper charge port installed. I've not done that yet.. Just plugged it into an outside socket. Ours only charges up to about 34 miles. Its gone above when we've used a proper charger whilst away on hols but at home Via 3 pin mains 34 is the most.
We've just clocked 8000 miles in ours since August... 6000 POE and 2000 Electric.... Thats because we did a 5k euro trip and only managed to charge it twice..
On the flip slide I've been using the M5C for work and putting in £150 a day. £190 today but still got some left... Boy that thing can drink
Eeek
Fun but Eeek

No proper charger yet but just using a 3 pin outside socket. Every day on charge the stated range has gone up by a few miles. First day read 32 miles. Yesterday was 47 miles, today says 49 miles.
Hmm. Ours isnt charging as high as yours. Were at 34 miles full charge via 3 pin plug
AhIsnt it more a case of we are both charging to 24Kw but based on our previous days car driving, mine is telling me I am going to get 49 miles range and yours you are going to get 34 miles range (you have a heavier foot than me!)
^^one big thing to keep in to account is temperature. Not sure where you are Matty but Greebo where you are is still pretty damn cold, especially at night, isn't it?
I am quite confused (which doesn't take a lot I admit), but my car appears to have gained some damage to one of the wheels (and a tiny bit on the tyre), I haven't knowingly hitting anything and some of the damage looks hard to achieve as it's further back from the edge. It was with BMW Wednesday/Thursday and I didn't think to check the wheels when I left as they were fixing the Drivers heated seat so not sure if it was done there. It's annoying as it just wasn't there when it was cleaned a week ago and I haven't driven into anything!
